It's fine. It's a little better in PVP (slightly better DCDs, but not by a large margin), and a little worse in PVE (lower dps, equal burst, lower raid utility).

Marksman has a slight edge in single target DPS, range, passive mitigation, control, and burst, but it also demands higher APM and lacks the mobility and group utility that make Arsenal so valuable. Arsenal also features a great mix of tech and weapon damage, allowing the player to circumvent far more DCDs; Marksman is all weapon damage and cannot bypass DCDs like Deflection unless the player resorts to stuns, targets swaps, etc.

In PVP, both specs are fairly overpowered as a byproduct of their classes; ultimately, I prefer the versatility of Arsenal. Both specs can clear all PVE content if mastered, though you might not be able to carry weak DPS like you used to.

For PVE, Lightning is superior to both specs in terms of DPS, AOE, utility, and mobility; it's a little squishy and predictable in PVP though.

I tend to agree with those in favor of Arsenal vs MM. I played each one in every type of content right when servers went live. I measured one thing, my enjoyment level of the rotation and dynamics of the class in PVE and PVP - winning or losing. I gave Arsenal a 9/10 and MM 8/10. Some situations MM was very nice, but overall I think I am going Arsenal. Thanks for sharing your experience with the two.
