This is exactly what I've been saying for a long time. Make Galactic Command a SUPPLEMENT ONLY to the previously existing gearing system. That way everyone can get gear in a reasonable amount of time for the effort put in, even casual solo players who don't do PvP or end game content. People would LOVE Galactic Command if it was just extra frosting on top of an already tasty cake, instead of it being foul gruel force-fed into you every time you logged in.

But nooooo, Ben Irving's ego won't allow him to admit making Galactic Command the core of the gearing system was the worst thing to happen to SWTOR pretty much ever. Well, either that or fear of EA firing/reassigning him if he admits his baby is the thing causing the game to hemorrhage subs.

I've heard a lot of stories from fellow raiders on the Ebon Hawk server, that people who backfill on runs are either not being allowed to roll on loot from the final boss, or are being kicked from the ops group before they can even do so. Ninja looting/people disobeying the loot rules for a particular ops run is also happening a lot more than it used to. People are becoming downright cutthroat about gear because it's so hard to get now, and it's causing even more end game players to quit in disgust.

While, yeah, up-heaving GC in general would be my preferred course of action... I think it's here to stay. That's why I think that as long as it's going to be staying, we try to tweak it so that it doesn't suck as bad. IE: Making it the supplementary gearing system people thought it was originally.

That's why my original post counters tweaking the ops drops with adjusting the command token costs.

Because they made a mistake but refuse to roll back a system that was a keystone of their most recent expansion for PR reasons.

Another thing, my guild is currently progressing through HM ops post 5.0. Just tonight, in fact, we cleared the first 4 bosses of TFB. We spent a couple hours on it and gave up at TFB because it was late. Not one single piece of unassembled loot dropped.

Just more proof the devs don't play their own game as that is simply ludicrous. Same thing happens in most KP runs. They say there is a chance but if they actually tested it they would most likely find a glitch that was preventing loot from dropping

Another point that just came up last night as a strike against this system:

Last night my guild made our first progression run through HM S&V. We spent about 3 hours on it and made it to Styrak. Gave him a couple shots, but decided to call it a night because it was too late and people were tired.

We want to reform sometime later this week, but we are unsure if everyone's schedules cooperate. Now, because we can't get the same people, some of the people in the group don't want to run with replacements because they think it's unfair that the people who couldn't make it put in the time for the first 3 hours only to be absent when the actual loot drops on the final boss.

Meaning, we likely won't come to an agreement about finishing that run. And it's the loot system's fault.

Solo players don't want RNG anymore than anyone else, so no everyone is not happy. Solo players like steady, reliable progression just as much as everyone else.

All bosses should have their chance rate increased to 100%.

This is my idea of what should happen with loot drops from operation bosses

1. SM a chance of a random bit from a boss but 100% locked in for last boss like it is now.
2. HM 100% random bit per boss apart from last boss with the 1 bit that is locked in.
3. NiM 100% locked in per boss with what bit of gear it is like it used to be so Nightmare perks are at the highest level so then the top players can enjoy it the harder the challenge the better the reward I say.

People are going to cry morning glory with this but it's fair SM shouldn't give the rewards like other modes even though it's just gear.

reintroduce lucky special items from chests in raids like the good old purple black from the days that was a nice crystal to have when it was rare.

this whole command system was designed because said players were complaining that they dont have access to the highest tier of gear. It was forced upon everyone else. My point being they deserve to deal with the RNG, while the rest of us who were organizing raids and committing to pvp and ranked its a slap in the face.
