If it were up to me, I'd jettison you lot out with all the other debris. But, then again, I wouldn't have made SWTOR unto a MMO either, so there's that too. To be fair, bioware jetitisoned the operation community with 4.0, and presumably decided story only failed so they returned to making operations. Feel free to vote with your wallet like we did with 4.0.

Oh yea a "Story watchers" wallet is only 1 month(Which is how long you have to sub to see the "story") deep which is why they returned to Operations. bdatt
Anyway the fight looks cool with some interesting mechanics. Really excited about 5.2 and on. Were most folks geared in 242s or tier 4 gear of some sort? Edited April 5, 2017 by bdatt

"Story-driven MMO," cept for the past 2 years the only part of MMO BW's remembered was the sub cost. Now it's slowly, but finally, going back to how it should be. But it's k, I would've rather they made a kotor 3 and then had a proper MMO to focus on the group content. Then everyone's happy. And I perhaps went a bit too overboard, but...as I said, I don't even understand the point of MMOs. I play them solo as a perfect time waster lol. They can be fun that way, yes, but why is it that I feel it is not the intended way to play this genre? ...why, I have absolutely no clue.

Why is a Massively Multiplayer Online game feel like it's not intended to play solo? Sounds like an impossible question to me

You should write a children's book about it. You might get one or two 5 year olds that might attempt to read it.

But that doesnt mean you cant enjoy the ops they do bring to the table. Now they just need to work on removing achievements, which cause segregation and limitation on progression opportunities for the majority.

forestguard
Wait, wut? No, really, what do you mean? Do 'splain. I think because groups will exclude you if you don't already have the proper gear or achievements, making it hard for most people to get involved. This game was NEVER about Operations and neither were they its defining feature. If it were up to me, I'd jettison you lot out with all the other debris. But, then again, I wouldn't have made SWTOR unto a MMO either, so there's that too. Perhaps, but they made it is an MMO, so operations are a kay element. Throwing raiders out just cuts sub momey, since they are the most reliable means of income due to them needing subs to play what they want. Because it's an MMO, We all matter here. As for Tyth, looks chaotic, but interesting. Gonna have to get my practice in the earlier ops though before I try it
olagatonjedi
Wait, wut? No, really, what do you mean? Do 'splain. I understand the benefits of being able to filter people out who havent comlleted certain content before, with the inception of achievements. It helps the groups that have completed them find others who have completed them. However, there is an ever growing dilemma that has the groups requiring achievements complaining that not enough people raid any more, or that there are no good raiders anymore, not realizing that the achievements used in the way they are is the cause of all these issues. Moreover, the ironic part is that the achievements dont differentiate between people who completed the ops version 3.0, 4.0, or even 5.0, nor does ut show if the person who got the achievement was carried or not. Gear plays less and less a part of these recruitments, and less and less of these MMO players are willing to give the massive population of players, both skilled and unskilled, a chance. The raider population must lie in the bed they made, just as the casual gamers/pvpers must in the aspects of the game they have influenced. bdatt
There's an inverse relationship between content age an willingness to wipe with new players (this goes both ways, picking up a pug and being the pug). The issue is with 2.5 year content drought, not necessarily the player base. There will be plenty of groups forming for Tyth this week, none asking for achievements. Gear check of course if filling for HM, but not for SM. Hopefully some new folks can get in and enjoy the first boss, and stay around for what's coming. captainwesson
Ooo ok cool. I completely agree that asking for the achieves, especially for SM ops, is silly, because how else will people learn and get them? I thought you were saying they should remove all achievements from legacy lol, so I was very confused for a minute. But we've all been there at one point without any of those achieves, and needed someone to teach us, so eventually we could, in-turn, teach others. And I'm super excited to do Tyth! I have noticed ppl asking achievements for SM GF ops now too. Not sure its a troll or for real, but ive seen it. Fact is ive seen groups wipe more and more on EV HM now so you never know..... Fact is ive seen groups wipe more and more on EV HM now so you never know..... People, wiping at EV HM aren't the part of the raiding community, we would miss, if they disappear. However, I am always open to players without the proper achievement. It's more about skill and willingness to learn. Sometimes, I would even choose a player without a specific achievement instead of someone, who faceroled over the ops back in 3.0.
