I've noticed there is a tiny population decrease lately in the game, even on the Imp Fleet. I was wondering if there was an issue or issues causing players to not play the game at the moment.

Not as far as i am aware? What is the population decrease you're referring to?

I've noticed there is a tiny population decrease lately in the game, even on the Imp Fleet. I was wondering if there was an issue or issues causing players to not play the game at the moment.

How "tiny" is this decrease?

Can you elaborate why you have taken this position in your mind that there was a sudden decrease in population at one specific time and/or place?

 

Was there a shift in the force, rippling through the screen monitor blasting you with kinetic energy then suddenly as you look around ingame, you find that all those other player characters running around you suddenly, inexplicably disappeared!

 

Was it like an ingame blackhole, that suddenly sucked out the game part of the fleet as well as other zones perhaps not known about or mentioned? I think you might need to report this to the proper authorities...

I noticed a tiny increase in the game population today, specifically for me logging in.

Lack of MMO content will always the problem with this game. People want a regular flow of flashpoints, ops, and warzones to bang their heads against, a few hours of levelling content every year or so isn't what keeps subscriptions rolling. Level scaling and adjusting loot tables for eight year old content will only carry you so far, players will eventually get bored, most probably are already, and leave. The hype for this game is long gone, new players aren't flooding in, BW needs to realise this game will only survive another eight years if they work on player retention and that requires catering more to the MMO crowd's hunger for group content. But of course you'll hear from the socially awkward defenders of this game who nervously shake every time someone sends them a whisper that nothing is wrong with SWTOR, it allows them to go straight from being socially awkward at work to being socially isolated in a game genre that has always required socialising. The way this game is going we're going to have one NA server and one server for all of Europe shortly after whatever they have planned for the 10th anniversary.

I didn't notice any decrease this afternoon when I was on Star Forge. there was even quite a debate going on when I was on Balmorra doing my conquest about "stealthing" of heroic objectives. It was still going on when I finished and headed to Makeb to do my weekly.

 

Then there was another heated debate on Makeb this afternoon about how awful Makeb is set up for heroics and quests.
