Rion_Starkiller
Holy cow! This game recommends 32 gb of RAM. https://wccftech.com/star-wars-jedi-fallen-order-pc-system-requirements/ Has any game had a noticeable performance improvement from having more than 16 gb RAM? I'm baffled by this.

This game recommends 32 gb of RAM. https://wccftech.com/star-wars-jedi-fallen-order-pc-system-requirements/ Has any game had a noticeable performance improvement from having more than 16 gb RAM? I'm baffled by this. From the page. [uPDATE] As it turns out, the recommended RAM requirements are 16GB instead of 32GB. So "only" 16GB. About the only way that you'll see performance improvement (in, say, SWTOR, for example) for more than 16GB of RAM is if you're bouncing around among many maps, where the disk pages for those maps will be in the operating system's in-memory disk-cache buffers eventually.(0) Apart from that, and possibly oddities about the eventual availability of faster RAM only in really big sizes (meaning boards where you can't fit less than 32GB, although that won't happen for a while(1)), I can't think of anything. (0) Obviously if you're on a good M.2/NVMe SSD, you won't notice the effect of that. (1) DDR6, say, will eventually arrive, and by then, they probably won't make smaller sticks than 8GB. That sort of thing.
