How Can An Expansion Launch Soon When Small Patches Always Break The Game?

Today's patch seems to be a simpler problem with XP and Conquest points, but each patch for SWTOR for most of 5.x seems to break the game, sometimes badly.

Ossus (5.10) and Iokath (5.2) were the worst, and they primarily only added daily areas. Some bugs from these patches were never able to be fixed and are still significant.

If we're seeing the largest general expansion of the game since 3.0 with Onslaught, with not only additional planets/areas, but an Ops, FP, and so many changes to how gear is attained and used, I'm concerned this will not just result in a rocky first day or few days, but result in many, many unintended problems for new and old systems.

Is BW doing more QA for the expansion than usual? Is there more staff dedicated to it compared to how regular patches are rolled out? How is this going to work?

This post is not intended as criticism leveled at the SWTOR team, which no doubt works really hard on the game. I'm simply concerned about how 6.0 will launch when small patches have been so consistently problematic for at this point years in 5.x.

Nobody should expect the game to "not" break when they launch the expansion... That'd be the definition of insanity (or at least not learning from history).

There will be days/weeks of patches fixing things before the game is really stable...

Lol, they probably let interns work on the game. THey still have bugs in here since BETA. Its a big cash trap really. Customer Support sucks, even when the game works its still broken. Overall its just one big trap made by an evil empire. It ruined something that could've been amazing. Epic Fail!
