Shroud still bugged...

Not sure if this is an intended mechanic of the Council on Nightmare, but I have log proof of being hit by a force attack with Resilience up. I'm gonna post in the bug report forums to see if I can get Tait to respond so I know if this is an intended mechanic of the fight on Nightmare or if it legitimately is still bugged.

21:14:14.217 Mudslide's Slow-release Medpac heals Happyshadow for 1590, causing 715 threat.

21:14:14.391 Happyshadow's Project hits Dread Master Bestia for 1281 kinetic damage, causing 1281 threat.

Unfortunately, this is almost certainly working as intended. Tyrans' shock is actually a ranged attack in Dread Palace. I found this out the hard way when first tanking him. If you look at the damage type (Parsec displays that for you), I'm almost 100% sure that it's going to be a ranged attack, as that's what it is in the first fight with him (in HM at least). It's very frustrating, and confusing, that it shares a name with the Inquisitor version of the attack that is actually a Force attack.

well to me was during wz.. which is really annoying... being stun on acid... serious :)

So that is why am certain is still bugged but ofc would be nice a word from bw about situation, and if its really a boss mechanic on Dread Palace, not that i am saying it isn't :)

Just to confirm that it is indeed a ranged attack during the first fight:

 

23:02:54.621 Ellendra's Project hits Dread Master Tyrans for 857 kinetic damage, causing 1972 threat.

23:02:54.796 Ellendra parries Dread Master Tyrans's Shock, causing 1 threat.

23:02:54.796 Ellendra parries Dread Master Tyrans's Shock, causing 1 threat.

23:02:54.797 Ellendra parries Dread Master Tyrans's Shock, causing 1 threat.

23:02:54.797 Dread Master Tyrans's Shock hits Ellendra for 2820 energy damage, causing 2820 threat.

23:02:55.360 Ellendra activates Slow Time.

 

Looking back at that, that's some pretty spectacular mitigation considering I wasn't using Deflection.

I haven't had any failures in PVP or PVE since the so called fix. This ability is easy to test and I will test it at Brontes where oftentimes I died because 'Irisa activates resilienice, bla bla bal 56k dmg bla bla'. Edited by Leafy_Bug

yesterday it happened to me that force shroud failed somehow. it was the only fail i can recall since the fix. i wanna share the combat log because i don't understand how that could happen, maybe it was just server lag as things went quite fast.

strangely combat looks little different on torparse than it looks when opening the log with parsec.

 

for those of you who dont speak german i wanna translate the terms used in the log:

 

Trauma (PvP)= the bolster buff

Sprinten = Sprint

Betäubt = Stunned

Verdunklung = Blackout

Tarnung = Stealth

Schattenschutz = Shadow's Respite

Spieß = Spike

Säureklinge = Acid Blade

Vergiftet (Tech) = Poisoned (Tech)

Gelähmt = Rooted (i think)

Versteckter Schlag = Hidden Strike

Macht des Willens = Force of Will

Entladung = Discharge

Brodelnde Ladung = Surging Charge

Zurichten = Maul

Klappmesser = Shiv

Belastbarkeit = Force Shroud

Meucheln = Assasinate

Machttarnung = Force Cloak

Machttempo = Force Speed

Deserteure erkennen = that PvP debuff that will kick you out of the WZ if it runs out

 

 

so i was facing two deception assasins and one concealment operative who took me out of stealth.

at 02:52:32.927 i got hit by hidden strike which applied the acid blade dot.

at 02:52:35.791 i activate force shroud

at 02:52:35.792 i loose the poisoned (tech) effect

at 02:52:35.972 i gain the poisoned (tech) effect again somehow

at 02:52:36.774 i got hit by hidden strike for 0 damage (resisted) and get the acid blade dot while shroud is up.

the next few seconds acid blade is ticking for 0 damage while force shroud is up

at 02:52:41.123 i got hit by the acid blade dot again

at 02:52:42.155 the last tick of acid blade kills me

 

please note that i was skilled kinetic combat so force shroud lasted 5 seconds. i remember seeing the acid blade icon as a debuff while shroud was up what never happened before. the 5th tick of acid blade took me out of stealth again as i force cloaked while shroud was up.

i'm aware this isnt a classic force shroud fail as i didn't receive dmg while shroud was up, but that acid blade stuff just shouldn't have happened afaik.

It's really not bugged, the problem is the way it's coded. It can't reach 100%... ever. I'm not sure what algorithm they use for it, but before it would fail more than it does now. I think I've had 1 failure since the fix and I play both a DPS and Tank shadow/assassins.

 

I remember one of the combat team devs talking about this awhile ago, but I can't remember when or I'd even try to find you the post.
