The Äscended, a Republic (and Imperial) Guild

Recommended Posts

Welcome to The Ascendëd!

The Ascendëd is a conquest guild, forced to ally with previous rivals in the hope of resisting The Eternal Throne and the resurrected Emperor. We must set aside our differences and once again purge the galaxy of evil incarnate. To this end, the Radiant Spectre, our flagship, will enter orbit over planets with active conflict zones. We will offer direct combat support, logistics, and diplomacy to the New Alliance forces and their objectives. Our ranks are a mix of diplomats, and soldiers alike:

Ambassador - Guild leader

Minister - High Officer, decisions and discipline

Counselor - Mid Tier Officer, bureaucracy and supplies

Lieutenant - Low Officer, military planning and organization

Chargé d'affaires - An award of distiction, for recognition of conquest objectives

Sergeant - High Enlisted, troop motivation and logistics

Secretary - Mid High Enlisted, Organization support

Attaché - Mid Enlisted, Accomplished (covert) troops and diplomats

Private - Low Enlisted, Introductory and support

It is the goal of the guild master that we support one another. Grouping and socialization are strongly encouraged. Heroics, Flashpoints, and Operations are great ways to obtain gear, experience, and social points. PvP is one of her favorite activities. GSF is a challenge that we must meet.

For the Republic, and our New Alliance!

We hit quite the obstacle after the 5.8 publish, but it seems conquest is once again playable (albeit buggy). Our monthly in character guild meeting (Republic side) is this Saturday at 1PM US PST. We have an ongoing guild story and lore. Our focus isn't much of a focus at all, we aim to have fun so if you're like minded and easy going, join us today!

The Ascended hit a bit of a bump with an ill fated move to Star Forge. We're back and putting things back in order here on Satele Shan. I'd really love to have a conquest crew once again, so if you're so inclined, send a message to Akevv on Pub side, or Akkev on Imp side. Our latest recruitment blurb:

Do you get that you cannot "win" an MMO? Prefer to play for fun? Join <The Ascendëd>! We have all of the guild perks, Imp and Pub sides, as well as Discord. We're pretty cool. You should join us.

See y'all in game!

Still alive, still recruiting. Looking for AM, afternoon, PM, late shift folks to have a good time playing the game. We have an existing lore story, set up flagships, we're just missing folks. If y'all have an inkling to make a new guild, or join some large, faceless guild, please consider instead joining an existing smaller guild. We'd love to have you! Our latest recruiting spam:

Looking for some decent PvP'rs, who don't mind lending a hand in conquest goals, who may know a bit about crafting too. If that's you, join <The Ascended>. Imp and Pub sides to suit your mood. Whisper for an invite.

We're getting back into roleplay. Not sure how deep or how far it will go, but thought someone might enjoy a bit of our background story.

Galactic Timeline for Star Wars: The Old Republic. The Galactic Calendar is the cannon calendar system adopted by the Galactic Senate following the Treaty of Coruscant (BTC/ATC).

16 ATC

- Sith Empire outposts in Wild Space destroyed by unknown culprits.

- Arcann and Thexan lead raids against the Core Worlds; Korriban is the most notable world to be defeated.

- First Skirmish with the Eternal Fleet. A joint-expedition of Imperial and Republic ships is led by Darth Marr to pursue Vitiate into Wild Space. All forces considered MIA/KIA.

- The Outlander is placed in carbonite.

- Emperor Arcann declares the Core Worlds responsible for Valkorian's death, and declares war against Sith Empire and Galactic Republic.

- Within three months, the Eternal Fleet claims naval superiority, having destroyed all major shipyards. Ships powered by Isotope-5 are discovered to be the most effective means of evading Eternal Fleet vessels

17 ATC

- Coruscant, Dromund Kaas, and all major trade routes are blockaded by the Eternal Fleet.

- The Dark Council is practically disbanded and Supreme Chancellor Saresh is removed from office.

- (Ambassadors Proposal) Akevv calls a meeting of leaders, agreeing to a series of proposals and crossing paths with familiar allies.

- The Galactic War ends. Zakuul victory.

- Darth Acina declares herself Sith Empress, and Senator Madon succeeds Leontyne Saresh as Supreme Chancellor.

- The Galactic Republic and Sith Empire continue to actively engage in war with one another.

- Emperor Arcann forgoes army occupation by installing Star Fortresses over hundreds of worlds.

Ambassadors Proposal

17 ATC between 2-4

Following the blockades of trade routes to the core worlds, unlikely senators and leaders have found themselves at the beginning of forming alliances. Ambassador Akevv Flurry, of Ryloth, has called a council to Corellia for a meeting in the ruins of what was once the Shipwright Auxilliary Spaceport. Entering the bombed Spaceport, the light from the setting sun sends a golden glow into what was once a populated area. Standing in the center at a podium with two Twi’lek guards to either side, is Akevv Flurry. She's middle aged, light blue skin Twi’lek with patterns down her lekku. She is wearing her Ambassador outfit of white and gold. She kindly welcomes all, and notices some familiar faces, although a majority of them are new. To her, some of the audience stood out more than others, such as the two humans. One, a middle aged 2-meter brute of a man while removing his hood revealed white eyes and a black Mohawk, and his companion, a small built woman with blond hair and green eyes. On each of their left shoulders of their armor shined a symbol Akevv vaguely remembers. She also noticed a Chiss woman on the other side of the room wearing a form fitted black and silver uniform, assuming this is the uniform of her species. She sees many more interesting figures in the crowd, wishing she had time to meet all of them personally. She promptly starts her meeting and introduces herself as more people fill in the seats around her.

During the meeting she talks about the threat that everyone has gathered to talk about, The Eternal Empire. Knowing that they can’t just stop Arcann, Akevv proposes multiple strategies. Many people disagreed with her proposals, but the half that did agree signed off on things such as military exchange, mapping and exploring new hyperspace trade routes, underworld involvement, and many others. She was glad to see the people she took notice of at the beginning of the conference agreed to them.

After the meeting the two hooded humans start to walk back to their shuttle to leave. Catching them before that, Akevv approaches, calling out to them. Glancing down at his companion, the man quickly turns and walks onto the ship. The woman stops in her tracks and turns to face the Ambassador. “Excuse me, can we talk for a second miss?” The hooded woman glances back up to the man who doesn’t look back and faces the Ambassador again, removing her hood she introduces herself. “I’m Denery Telkite, my comrade and I are here on behalf of The Holders of Light”, said the woman. “Ah! That explains why I’ve seen the symbol before, as we've fought together during the attack on the core worlds" as Akevv and Denery now share a brief moment of familiarity. "How times have changed. The Republic is in a shambles, and the Senate isn’t even trying to help people in need. May I ask, how are your armies doing, and what is up with the man you are with”, said Akevv. “Oh, our armies? Um not much of us are left. Most of our troops were killed during the core world invasion, and the remnants of our force users scattered into hiding. Those who have remained are able to fit onto two Valor-Class cruisers”, Denery laments. As she says that she looks down at the floor and kicks at the ground in an embarrassed way. “This is Paulay, the leader of Holders. He hasn’t been doing great since the initial attack. That’s why we are here, if we are to survive we all need the help we can get”. “I am truly sorry, you have my condolences” Akevv places her hand on Denery’s shoulder and wishes them luck with everything and bids her farewell and lets them be on their way.

Upon ascent from the surface of Corellia, Akevv’s capitol ship, Radiant Spectre, receives a faint distress signal from the planet Csilla. Knowing little of its history, she remembers hearing rumors of humans turning into Chiss from the hydrosphere around the planet. Acknowleding the signal, Akevv's entourage promptly deploy to the planet. Upon arrival, she notices familiar warships fighting the eternal fleet above the planet, Symbols on the ships shine bright reflecting the pale color of the planet. The Holders of Light were the first to the battle, well the two ships that remained at least. Responding to the two Capitol ships, Akevv hears Denerey, in command of one of the ships and the other who she assumes is Paulay, in command of the other discussing tactical plans and giving orders. Joining in, Akevv informs the two she will dispatch shuttles to the surface for evacuation and the rest of her entourage will stay in the air and fight.

On the surface of Csilla, her shuttle door opens to the frigid air and multiple red eyes peering at her, looking up she sees the battle ahead and her and other allied fighter ships crashing to the ground, looking back to the chiss she is face to face with one from the meeting, after a short introduction, she learns the chiss’ name is Lai’cii, here on behalf of the Jedi, Akevv takes that as a good sign and that she is surrounded by friendly people. Her and Lai’cii carefully pack as many people onto the shuttle, some allied shuttles rescuing people from the ground to the Capitol ships.

In the middle of the evacuation they hear a loud boom from the sky. Looking up with terror on their faces, one of the capitol ships is shot right in half, both ends falling to the planet. Holocom verification comes through, answering, Akevv hears a somber female voice on the other end. “L-01 is down, we need to finish the evacuations or none of us will be left, our army was just cut in half again”, winced Denery. “OK, we are almost done” Akevv looks to Lai’cii, she has a look of disappointment on her face. “We cannot leave these people behind,” said Lai’cii, sweeping her hand over the crowd. Her face remains emotionless, but there is an edge to her voice. Ending the holo call, “I’m sorry Lai'cii, but theres no time for more ships to come, we need to get these people out of here.” Rushing onto her shuttle, Lai’cii takes the co-pilot seat and looks out the window at the chiss crying and fighting below her. Back on Radiant Spectre, Akevv patches through to Denery again. Denery tells Akevv there is an uninhabited planet that the Holders have used in the past as a fall back area. Denery proceeds to ask Akevv's forces to follow her, jumping into hyperspace.

Months later, Akevv enters the makeshift council chambers on Planet Tygoreth. In the chamber stands Denery and Lai’cii, all three in formal attire. Denery escorts the two of them down a hall and out the doors to a balcony overlooking the small settlement, the council chambers perched half way in a mountain side, and the green grassland under them. “The usage of the L-02 parts really helped in establishing this colony. We now have housing, power, and food for everyone, including the new people who join The Ascended”, Denery says as she sits down on a sofa, pouring them all a drink of nectar that had been collected locally. “Security is strained, which may be a problem soon. We have deployed trainers among the refugees and are actively recruiting for the fight.” Lai’cii points out 2 towers with turrets on top. “L-02’s guns are our main protection, and your Capitol ship, Radiant Spectre, and its fleet are helping against small threats across the galaxy. We have kept trade routes at a minimum to avoid getting drawn into conflicts. I have tasked security to carefully watch everyone who comes and goes and what they bring in.” Lai’cii sits next to Denery and takes a drink. “As long as we grow from what we have, we have no issues and I can drink to that”. Akevv reaches for a glass, and they toast to their new alliance. In the middle of their toast, a Minister comes running to the balcony. “Ambassador Akevv, There's some unnatural Sith here, looking for the leaders, to discuss an alliance...”. Minister Trycorr’o, in the background, salutes the three of them. Akevv, looking back to the two on the sofa, then turns back to the Minister, “Then send them up”. She raises her glass towards the two and they raise there’s back in agreement.

The Ascended, Imperial and Republic guilds are still available for all to enjoy. We regularly meet our conquest objectives and have a close knit core community. It is my intention to offer a safe home, with no requirements, to friendly people. I do not tolerate nonsense and keep the assets I have created and maintain free of it. Imperial and Republic guilds have updated ranks, and each week, the person with the highest personal score is awarded a special title. If you earn something from conquest, you get to keep it. Donations are obviously encouraged, but in no way required, to keep your characters in the guild. Ranks are as follows:

Pub

Minister

Counselor

Lieutenant

Charge d'affaire (conquest title)

I thought I had posted our updated lore, but I guess I forgot! In any case, earlier this year, we merged with the Imperial guild, STF(U). Its been a great fit, and I encourage smaller guilds to find compatible folks, and consider merging too. Here's the newest chapter of the Ascended, now Never Tell Me the Odds:

New Friends, New Problems

The meeting with Trycorr’o all those years past seems as though it happened just a moment ago instead. A promise for new ships, new capabilities to fight this new enemy. We would take the war to them, instead of waiting for annihilation. Strong, encouraging talk that made everyone hopeful for a quick end to this Eternal Fleet menace. What followed though, was bare survival. The Radiant Spectre’s sister ship, Spectral Doom, acquired from Trycorro’s brilliant negotiation skills, floats all but destroyed. The ship is docked at the Imperial home station, Vaiken Spaceport, a victim of bureaucracy, piracy, theft, and above all, treachery. Unbeknownst to anyone within the Ascended, Denery’s true loyalty had always been with the Empire. Her actions led to Holder’s entire fleet being ambushed and destroyed, sold off for scrap to the Empire. Had she a change of heart, returning from that ruinous mission with just Spectral Doom intact, or was this part of her plan all along?

The Past

At the meeting on Tygoreth, Trycorro enters the women’s presence, introduces himself, and asks to be seated. The women are enjoying themselves, and the nervousness displayed by this strange man only intrigues them more. Akevv gets straight to the point, and asks Trycorro why he has come. He offers his fleet, and a way to “ascend” above mere sustenance living. He tells a tale of 50 ships, each with a capability that complements the other. As a group, the ships can fuel, fight, produce, entertain, and repair. The ships are low on crew, however, and with the thousands of inhabitants here on Tygoreth, they can be made ready to serve. Akevv is doubtful of the plan, why is this man offering these ships to me, when there are hundreds of others he could approach with such an offer. Being force sensitive, Trycorro reads her thoughts and assures her that she is unique in her convictions. He has watched her speak many times, as many different people. Trycorro asks Akevv if she remembers Paulay. “Of course I do” she replies. “Then how do you not see him when he is sitting right in front of you”? Akevv, in that instant, recognizes her old friend. The battles, the blood, the victories they’ve shared flood her mind. “How did I not recognize you”, she blurts out. “Its not your fault, Akevv. I am a shapeshifter. I choose obscure forms, to better know others, before revealing my identity. Its kept me alive so far”. All of the women are pleased to see Paualy once again, and all do their best to get some of his time. Paulay saves the last news for the end of the day, before he has to return to his other duties. He tells the women that he has managed to obtain an Imperial class star destroyer, and has named it Spectral Doom. It will complement the successful Radiant Spectre, in taking the Ascended missions to the outer rim, and beyond. Akevv is wildly impressed with Paulay, a successful man with a persuasive allure. Lai’cii is ecstatic that her old friends are together once again, that Paulay is alive and is ready to fight. Denery, on the other hand, is so jealous it takes every bit of her strength not to kill them all where they stand. No, she will wait for an opportunity to ruin this, not yet though. From this day forward, the group will be known as The Ascended. Years pass and Denery’s jealousy only makes her more passionate about destroying this group. It takes a great deal of persuasion, using the force, and other less magical means to garner command of a good portion of Trycorro’s fleet. Akevv remains leery of allowing one person to control such an arsenal. “We see what the Eternal Throne does with their power. Do we allow one person in our own group to have a similar power”, she writes at a recent council meeting. Because Akevv is so open about her intentions, it is easy for Denery to take resources, people, anything she needs to feed her growing ambition. Fueled by jealousy, the Dark Side, and rage, she convinces Paulay an attack on the Star Forge is not only possible, it is winnable. Akevv is violently opposed to such action, to the point of splitting assets from those marked for the mission. Many of the people Akevv has come to depend on, Geet’a, Ivengot, Lai’cii, Magnia, and more, all have received a personal warning from her about Denery’s intentions. “You’ll be left there for dead, if you follow her”, she warns. Each that Akevv has contacted have said

they’ve got a back up plan, in case it’s needed. Each has provisions and an escape ship loaded, just in case the mission fails. There is nothing more that Akevv can do, other than bid them farewell. The first to return from the battle is Lai’cii. She tells that it was an ambush. She lost track of the main group of fighting ships, that Denery’s orders were conflicting, almost as if she was purposefully making casualties higher than necessary. Over the next few hours, the Radiant Spectre’s Med Bay received and treated dozens who had escaped the calamitous assault. Neither Paulay or Denery were among those that made it back. Akevv makes the decision to begin traveling toward the Forge with the remaining Ascended ships, to make the distance less for rescues. On scanners, a very large ship shows up. Its the Spectral Doom! Akevv scrambles rescue frigates and shuttles, to attend the wounded, and the dying. Word comes back, Denery has been found. The Dark Side has consumed her, altering her appearance and has apparently driven her mad. Paulay was in the process of being taken apart by Denery flaying bits of skin while cackling manically in her chamber. Paulay was taken to the med bay, and Denery had been trapped in her quarters aboard the Spectral Doom. “There is nothing left for you to take from me anymore Akevv. I have taken the things you cared about, and have ruined everything for you”, she says wickedly. Akevv says “I only ever wanted you to grow in the Force Denery, to learn the light side path and gain an understanding of life itself”. “Let me out of this trap, and I will show you life inside out dear one”, Denery moans. Geet’a, who has been watching the exchange, slowly circles the room. There is nothing that Geet’a has not experienced of the Dark Side, and this exchange is feeding his bloodlust. He opens the door to the chamber, before Akevv can even react, Geet’a has removed Denery’s head and begins to consume the mix of cerebral, blood, and viscera exposed from the wound. Geet’a savors every moment of hatred, consumes and throws Denery’s husk to the side when through. Akevv watches Geet’a’s eyes, and for a moment, she is frightened, but Geet’a senses as much and paralyzes that fear response. Geet’a is loyal to Akevv, and to his friends who have fought with him and for him for so long.

The Present

With broken ships, many wounded, and in need of shelter, Akevv asks her navigators for solutions to get the remaining fleet what it needs. She is told that Hutta is not too far, and can even be reached by the ships whose hyperdrives are out. “Finally, some luck”, she mutters under her breath, “I wonder if that old scalawag ThunderBunneh is still orbiting his ships around that dustbowl” she says to the navigator. “Would you like us to attempt to find them” is the reply. “Of course, yes, please, let me know when you have something”. Akevv heads to the medical bay for a word with Paulay. He is in a Kolto tank, very beat up but still alive. “I tried to warn you about her”, she says, not expecting any reply. Paulay’s voice pops into her mind though, saying “I know you did Akevv, and I’m sorry this has happened. I thought she had our best interests in mind, but clearly I was wrong. We will recover from this, I sense it. Go to your friends, ThunderBunneh and his crew. They will become the Imperial side of our efforts”. “Well, you see what happened with our current Imperial outreach, what makes you think this will be any different”? “Because now that I am so close to death, I can see people’s intentions, and Bunneh’s intentions are your intentions. You both want a galaxy that is free. The idea of equality and fun weigh heavily on your hearts. You won’t find a better match between two groups, and you need this to grow, just as he does”. “Well, with your new super powers Paul, will I ever find love again”, she asks. Paulay just chuckles, more bubbles flow from the regulator over Paulay’s face.

As the Ascended’s ships enter orbit over Hutta, they are greeted by STF(U)’s shuttles. The shuttles are directed to land aboard the Radiant Spectre, and both officers, ThunderBunneh and Darth Plagieus are greeted. The assembly is shown to the Officer’s Mess, where discussions between Bunneh and Akevv show many promising similarities between the

groups. Negotiations go long into the evening, with drinking and dining for those involved. Ivengot stands off to the side with Geet’a and asks “so what did her neck taste like”? Geet’a replies “it tasted like rage, and I loved it. I would happily do it again if anyone else threatens our group”. “I’ll keep that in mind, hopefully we will never see it again though” Ivengot replies. “What do you think of this new group”? Ivengot asks. “So far, I don’t sense anyone who needs to be eaten, if that’s what you’re asking”, replies Geet’a. “Tell you what, let’s grab a death stick and have a spin on the slots” says Iven, trying to change the subject. Akevv and Bunneh talk long into the night. A new name to unite the clans, parking the Spectral Doom at the Imperial Fleet, new struggles to assert power over disputed trade routes and minor skirmishes to sort out. “The Ascended and STF(U) are a match”, they proclaim after the night begins to wind down. “We will have our new name in a few days, and our ships and assets will become one”. The room erupts in applause, and everyone glances at their new alliance members. “I hope we aren’t too rough for you Akevv”, says Bunneh. “I grew up on Ryloth, around some of the most ruthless syndicate action in the galaxy. Your men are fine fighters, and those that think they are hooligans, I see honorable men waiting to be made”. “Then, we will make this alliance work, for the benefit of us all”, says Bunneh. “Agreed”, says Akevv.
