New Classes

Personally, I don't know why I was thinking this, but I think that they should create two special new classes...unfortunately, I only have one suggestion. The night-sisters for the Sith Empire. Anybody got better ideas. Please share, I'm quite interested.

Interesting, I'd love to see that too. What if there was some kind of Hermit class Jedi though? or maybe not even a jedi, just a force user...although that can kinda be done through the legacy system now.

Tera-Kasi as in the TK class from Star Wars Galaxies.

 

For those that didn't play SWG, the TK is basically a martial artist that derives his force like powers internally (AKA Chi) whereas the Jedi derive their powers externally from the Force. The TK can be duel factioned I believe. Some SW book geek should check on this. They are monk like, however, had the rep of being Jedi killers so I can see the class swinging both ways.

I know that NS are not part of the empire, but they would have to create an independent faction otherwise. Although it would be nice to have an independent faction they would probably have difficulty integrating that into the story.

Republic: SIS Agent (modeled after Theron Shan, med armor)

AC: Teras Kasi - melee/mifd-range tank/melee DPS w/pistol (tech blade?) - Animations would use martial arts (not the pistol) for melee, debuffs, CC

AC: Slicer - healer/range DPS w/pistol - Pet summons (Creature Handler, droids maybe), group buffs, uber-companions, CC

 

Empire: Imperial Officer (military, option of getting Moff title at 50)

AC: Troop Commander - melee/mid-range tank/melee DPS w/rifle - Animations would use rifle strikes and droid companions, debuffs, CC

AC: Tactician (or Tech Specialist) - healer/range DPS w/rifle - Pet summons (Creature Handler, Imp troopers or bio-creatures maybe), group buffs, uber-companions, CC

Umm you do know the Justicars aren't really the same side as the Republic right?

 

Not entirely true.

 

According to the Lore, The Justicars are made up of former Republic military personnel that were opposed to the Treaty of Coruscant. They are a breakaway Republic faction that is willing to use force against anyone who threatens their liberty. They are breakaway faction not essentially an enemy of the Republic. And of course they still hate the Empire.

 

Essentially I would envision a Justicars relationship with the Republic as being similar to the Smuggler. A independent group that shares similar goals with the Republic, but is not a part of the Republic itself.

 

Thats why I list it under "Republic".

I've always suggested a "Grievous" class

 

Full droid parts, non-foce sensitive melee class with lightsabers...

 

Plus when you have your entire body replaced by metal parts, you have one big story to tell :D

 

I would see Droid as being more of a race than a class. A Droid would make a cool BH or IA. I think a BH like IG-88 might be a lot of fun.

I remember an idea that was suggested back way before TOR was launched when everyone was debating what the 4th class will be. It was a Senator/ Beast Handler. Both would be a pet type class. If the forums didn't reset I would try dig up that very long post covering in full detail what the class should be.

The Witches of Dathomir, of which the Nightsisters are a clan of, aren't banished to Dathomir until 600 BBY, so they don't exist in this era. BW could retcon them a la the same thing they did with the Chiss, but this is a much larger retcon. Now add in the fact that Nightsisters would be limited to 2, maybe 3 of the playable species(if they stick to canon) and I don't see this flying.

 

I'd love to see Mandalorians as a Darkside Character

 

Mandos aren't a species,nor would they be a class. They are a clan made up of different species all operating under the Mando ideology, roll a DS BH if you want to see this. Perhaps you meant the original Mandos, the Taung as a playable species. They are thought to be extinct or very close to it in this time period and the years following it.

Wow, I just got trolled. I'm sorry, I just didn't research "that deeply" into star wars history. Not, that I'm not interested, mind you. I simply never thought someone had composed the back story so deeply. Edited by Knyghter

Now, now. no need to start anything. I started this thread so people could share their ideas freely. I wanted the game developer's to see this thread and help them think of new ideas for future game play. I hope that people will continue to post their creative ideas, not just criticisms.

Correcting information or sharing it to show correction or problems you may run into isn't trolling, if anything you got 'lollored" or if I was a jerk about it "nerd bullied":p. I merely shared lore and canon that shows there are problems with your idea and some other ideas here, which will explain why you probably won't see them implemented.

 

The SW EU is immense and has numerous books,e-books,,games,comic books,graphic novels and much more taking place in it, so of course many species,sects,concepts,planets etc have been written about and expanded upon. Wookieepedia is a decent resource to check if you have neither the time or inclination to read the EU.

I never said you were a jerk and I thank you for the correction, as well as the advice. I simply wish for this to return to people sharing their ideas. I also apologize for the other posters rude comment. Please share some of your ideas on what would be good new classes or even the possibility of a different faction, though it may be highly doubtful that a new faction would be made.

Well, the only viable third faction I can think of would be(warning Imperial Agent spoilers soon) is the

Star Cabal from the IA story. They seem to have the connections and resources to make a mess for the Empire and Republic just based on the IA story alone. BW could expand on their conspiracy even more if they were a third faction.

. The Hutts are powerful and rich enough to become a third faction, but I think they'd need to ally with some other group(s) to be viable enough to stand toe to toe with the Empire and Republic.

 

New classes, I'm not quite sure because BW did a good job of taking iconic classes or characters and representing them as a class or AC. I'm not a huge fan of the typical suggestions that crop up in threads like these, from former SWG fans that often suggest playable classes from that game for TOR because they just don't have the right feel for TOR . I do like the Tera Kasi idea and a few others, but I really haven't thought enough about it for my own suggestions.

 

EDIT: I think someone mentioned the Imperial Guard from this era,they would make for an interesting class. They seem to be a mix of melee and ranged, so you could give them a tank,dps and possibly healing spec.
