Recommended Posts

ok, so I blow up the shield gen, open up the heroic mode, go and complete the mission (alderaan) come out and the star fortress mission is still there,, is the star fortress supposed to blow up? its still on my to do list,

when I beat the boss a door opens up and I leave being chased by a fue fighters, nothing blows up

I get a to choose "story mode" or "Veteran Mode" , that's it..

To emphasize on this, when you do run it again (this time, to destroy said Star Fortress), it switches from Heroic +2 to Heroic 4, so I'd recommend getting a group together for it. (Tried to do it solo, and got my arse handed to me.) Also, make sure your toon is equipped with the best possible gear as you get hammered by Skytroopers.

Rubbish.

It is Heroic 2+ all the way, but it's not walk-in-the-park H2+ like you find on planets. You have to know how to play correctly and it sure does help to have a well-trained, highly-influenced companion. And get the Alliance Specialists to level 10+, especially Aygo, since that unlocks special powers. (Aygo's power is the deployment of a moderately tough and very tanky turret that you should use at every possible opportunity during the Exarch fight.)

Frankly, it's more like a soloable two-man flashpoint than a Heroic mission, but it *is* soloable.

Correct. It is soloable, just set your comp to heals and you will be fine. Higher level comps are recommended, unless you were a sub who got Z0-0M, lv 1 is fine with her. Since way overpowered (go find the original writeup if you think otherwise).

As to doing the story quest, the order is to blow up the shield generator, then do the VETERAN version of the same planet star fortress. SOLO mode does not progress the story in terms of blowing up the fortress.

Hope this helps,

Apologies. My mistake. ;). Been a while since I've attempted any of these.

I was able to solo the heroic /veteran mode when it first started (then called heroic). When it changed to veteran I can't solo it. I can get all the way to the final boss, and I suppose if I wanted to keep trying more than three times to beat it I probably could. But the flashpoint itself is tedious and a grind...and then to get through it all and not beat the final boss... i'm just skipping them from now on. Too frustrating and not really needed. The only one to complete that has any effect at all is Voss and its a very a minor effect in Wrath and Ruin.

I've been through the Veteran SFs and the only thing that has ever stopped me from beating them has been the grappling hook issue before the final Exarch. I finally gave up trying to do them because it was a pain to get through the whole flashpoint and then not be able to get to the boss.

But yeah, it's totally doable solo, as long as you have a companion with high influence. Having the specialists' buffs and finding their special weapons really helps, too. I found Sana-Rae and Aygo's weapons very useful in the final rooms on the way to the Exarch.

(Yes, I tried EVERY suggestion mentioned on the board, and it didn't help).

My influence level 50 companion always stops healing part way thru the end fight.

I can get the boss down around 50% then the companion stops healing :(

I've had the same problem.

Sadly, it's nearly impossible to find anyone interested in Veteran runs anymore.

If you are on Star Forge I can help with Star Fortress runs on either Imp or Pub side.

My tank Powertech finished Nar Shaddaa Heroic late last night. Mixture of 230/236 gear, except for a blaster with all gold 248 mods including barrel. Level 50 Mako healing.

I didn't have much trouble outside of the Exarch. The constantly getting bounced off all the walls of the platform area like a bouncy slap-ball while the Exarch himself was utterly immune to the same, was very maddening. Also, being in tank spec, it took a LONG time. At least an hour and ten minutes. (EDIT: That was to do the whole Star Fortress, not just the Exarch fight hahaha). I accidentally got knocked into the bottomless pit by the Praetorian because I was standing where I shouldn't have been, but I broke out of the cell and killed him next go around.

I'll probably be trying Alderaan or Belsavis on my Vigilance Guardian next. If that works out, both my Powertech and Guardian will do Voss.

All that being said, I'd gladly welcome a partner just for the company and it's more fun that way. I'm on Star Forge server, often around at 1 AM'ish and 2 AM'ish Eastern Time. Just ask on General and Allies chat and if I'm on and interested in a group, I'll whisper you.

It’s not because the Veteran Mode is solo-able. It’s because the decorations and conquered exarch armor pieces stopped dropping from that mode when 5.0 came out and two and a half years later it’s still not fixed. Also, I did one four nights ago and the CXP pack that drops from the Praetorian dropped for the group leader but not for me. Mine did drop with the final Exarch though. Im not even sure if the walker drops anymore, although you can get it with Eternal Championship tokens. It’s never dropped for me ever, even in the 4.0 era. The point is there’s no reason for groups to do it beyond the initial unlocking of the companions/achievements, as long as the loot is broken.

I'm actually on the Shan server. My shadow does pretty well up until the last fight. Then for some reason when the boss hits 50%, the comp stops healing. In any case I joined up with the Pub side of the guild I was on as an Imp. A guildie and I took it down pretty quick after that. Should have checked if there was a Pub side sooner. Guess it comes from rarely playing Republic. Well, at least I got some good cxp points out of it Edited by Venn_Dras

So I recently completed all of the veteran star fortresses solo on my sith assassin. I had my level 16 influence companion on heals the entire time. I also had rank 10 influence with each of the four alliance contacts since that gave me temporary abilities like a heal, stun, aoe damage, and single target damage. If you do not have that level influence with them, I would definitely recommend getting to level 10 influence because that is what helped me through it.

For the final fight, I would put the turret (the single target damage from Aygo) down first since the Exarch goes right to that and starts to destroy it after I lay the first attack on him. As it is focused on the turret, I would use my heroic moment to bring the health down quite a bit and use the rest of the other alliance abilities sparingly through the rest of the fight since there is a three minute cooldown for them. I also made sure I had an endurance pack on and health packs with me. I also found that making sure you had that Photoelectric Dampening Field up was super helpful in protecting me from a good portion of the damage. Also, be sure to interrupt the "Impaling Strikes" attack since that gives a lot of damage.

I hope this helps! If it doesn't and we happen to be on the same server (Star forge), let me know and I will be willing to help you out!

I'm having the similar problem with this missions.

I have achieved the destruction of the shields of all 6 fortresses. The next step is to see Lieutenant Marklo to "Start [HEROIC 2+] Flashpoint: The Star Fortress". Instead, I get Start Story Mode, Start Veteran Mode and Refuse Mission as options.

Some of you said Veteran Mode is [HEROIC 2+] but it's not true because the game said that I was having 2 different levels for the same mission so I should choose one. There must be something wrong with the game or maybe I'm suppose to do something that is not mentioned.

What used to be called [Heroic 2+] is, indeed, now called [Veteran]. However, if you still have (for whatever reason) the [story] (formerly [solo]) mode of any Star Fortress open, you will not be able to take any [Veteran] mode. Abandon any Star Fortress [sTORY] things, exit all phases (including your ship or your stronghold or your guild's equivalents) and then right-click your character portrait and select "Reset active phases" (or whatever it's called, but definitely Reset) from the menu.
