Just came back to swtor (it's good to be back!) and I couldn't find a recent thread on this so I thought I'd just ask. Which spec do you think is fastest for leveling through the class story?

 

I know the story is "ez mode", but I was curious on what would be easiest/fastest. Thanks guys!

I think Advanced Prototype/Tactics. It provides great single target burst, decent AoE and quite easy energy management. Compared to Pyrotech/Plasmatech it has greater survivalabillity

I agree on Tactics. Plasmatech takes a while to come online with it's bursty and even AoE stuff. For the first 40 levels it's barely different from tank in damage output. Tactics isn't that much diffetent but at least it gets reasonably good AoEs early on and has a bit burstier skills as well. But most of it's big burst also comes later.

 

Another thing is that Tactics is easier to learn and play, Plasmatech might be overwhelming for a first time vanguard player.

 

For story either of them can be used, to be honest. But I vote for Tactics.

I have to agree with everyone here. The retractable wrist blade is both cool and effective.
