DewyMossEmpire Posted July 2, 2013 Share Posted July 2, 2013 Just wanted to know if anyone out there has played The Last of Us on PS3. That game blew me away, what a crazy adventure of horror, stress, emotion, just agh! Everything! & it is especially not often that you find a game where a "zombie" outbreak is taken as a serious plot, even though truly the creatures in The Last of Us aren't quite zombies. Though I'd like to know what you guys think of the ending? Here's how I interpreted it: (Spoilers about the ending below) At the beginning of the final scene you witness Ellie looking over her bite, which seems to be swollen & worsening from infection, despite her so-called infection. Perhaps after long her body simply gave in, because it was mentioned that the immunity growth on her brain had begun to mutate. Or, after all of the exposure to the spores & what not, her body took in more than the immunity could handle. Anyway, she asks Joel to swear to her that what he said about the Fireflies was true, how they have found more people who are immune & stopped looking for a cure. I believe she asked this because she knows she is turning, especially after the story she told about when she was bitten; she is afraid that there is no cure, & asks Joel to promise her that he told the truth, for she knows it is almost her time. Even though Joel lies to her, I felt like Ellie knew he was. So in the end, Joel should have just let her go, & Ellie probally would've wanted that too. But was it already too late? There are rumors about a sequel, but Idk, I feel like there's enough information to gather that their quest did not work out, & the infection is unstoppable. KingWilbourn Posted July 2, 2013 Share Posted July 2, 2013 I'm glad he didn't give her to the Fireflies. When he was driving away the entire time I was like "NO STAHP. PLZ." One of my favorite scenes (I mean favorite as in a wow holy **** that's sad and totally unexpected) was when Henry killed Sam then killed himself. I just stared at my TV for awhile. The game gets to you, man. It's crazy. I LOVED the mission where you play as Ellie. That's seriously probably one of my favorite missions I've ever played in a video game. I did start my 2nd playthrough on survivor but when I got to 10% I was like "Wow, this seems way too easy for survivor." So I checked my difficulty and it was normal. So I quit. Was it just me or whenever Ellie was attacked I would always think to myself "STAY AWAY FROM HER YOU BASTARDS" and commence to beat the hell out of whatever was attacking. If it was someone else, "Well, they're about to die, I GUESS I'll go help. I don't want to have to restart." Ohh....*Shivers* Honestly the biggest moment that I had when I was happy for the character was when Ellie killed David in the lodge & then Joel came back just in time to save her from chopping him up too much with the machete XD that whole scene was just....omg. Seravie Posted July 3, 2013 Share Posted July 3, 2013 (edited) In this game, the voice acting and character progression(How the character develops throughout the story) is one of the best i've experienced in anything ever. The game was awesome. With the bloaters, i was really scared, just threw shrapnel grenades and Molotovs until it died literally killing it with fire. The funny thing is the fungus is real.
