Infernixx
Nar Shaddaa Casino. For the first time, players are invited to the casinos on Nar Shaddaa to try their luck on the slot machines. Credits can be used to purchase tokens, which in turn can be used on slot machines. Lucky winners will receive certificates that can be traded in for unique rewards that will only be distributed during the Nar Shaddaa Nightlife event. This event will run from June 10th to August 19th. hahahahaha awesome

Reno_Tarshil
Ah, I see now. So, what is the point of this thread again? To get a discussion going about Casinos and not clog up the road map thread?

Andryah
Unless there is more than just slots I probably won't spend more than an hour in the casino. Well.... they were pretty clear in their announcement. Casino slots, which you feed with tokens (which you buy in game with in game credits), and winnings are in the form of a new trade currency of some form. This is not an unusual approach for MMO devs by the way..... as it effectively inoculates the game from local gambling laws and restrictions around the world. Now if players embrace the casino, rather then crapping all over it 7/24 once it goes live, it could very well be they will expand the types of games of chance in the casino and make it a recurring event. Darth_Wicked
Unless there is more than just slots I probably won't spend more than an hour in the casino. Same. If Bioware wants me to stay entertained, given the drought as far as NEW content is concerned, at least give me more character slots on the Red Eclipse. I ain't asking much. Sarfux
You just have to be patient and the things will come. Can't wait for this addition and I believe, in time, it will be a permanent feature. They are probably doing the event to see how popular it is before adding it. Long, long event though. I can't wait! I have been waiting for those poor casinos to be opened for a while now! One...more....coin...just one more. I almost got it! Just ONE MORE!! Get outta here!!!

arunav
Ah, I see now. So, what is the point of this thread again? To drain credits from players in anticipation of Strongholds in August, making cartel coin purchases more likely.

Tachenko_Yuri
And I suppose that, in some way, somehow, the slots aren't going to be considered outright gambling either?
jedimessiah
To drain credits from players in anticipation of Strongholds in August, making cartel coin purchases more likely. Riiiight... just like people said that hourly cartel market sale was designed to drain players of coins in anticipation of strongholds. How many free coins have we gotten since then? How many millions of credits do most players have? August is still a bit down the road as well.

JimG
Same. If Bioware wants me to stay entertained, given the drought as far as NEW content is concerned, at least give me more character slots on the Red Eclipse. I ain't asking much. If you have 22 characters on one server, I don't think they have any reason to worry about keeping you interested in the game.
Petnil
Seems a bit odd to make it an event. It's not like the casino close when the event is over. Other than that i cant find anything bad to say realy. Well, other than i would have preffered a game you could play against a friend.
Darth_Wicked
Baby steps, baby steps. Five years from now, we'll still keep reading this kind of stuff... "Baby steps, baby steps". If you have 22 characters on one server, I don't think they have any reason to worry about keeping you interested in the game. Seeing that I have no interest whatsoever in relocating to another server, your assessment is rather incorrect. Seems a bit odd to make it an event. It's not like the casino close when the event is over. Other than that i cant find anything bad to say realy. Well, other than i would have preffered a game you could play against a friend. Indeed. Feels rather arbitrary not to make it a permanent feature... It's not like the Casinos are closing shortly after, is it? Rafaman
I'm curious about the certificates. What kind of gear will you be able to get with these certs? It sounds to me that there will be an event vendor that handles this and thus the "event" moniker. I'm looking forward to it because I'm also of the opinion that this a build block for minigames. EzioMessi
Slots? I guess that's a good start. At least now I have a way to gamble against pure luck for in-game items without paying RL money for a hypercrate. Still waiting on card games to gamble on Bioware.
