Many weapons today called "cannon" are, in fact, rifled, so in strict form are rifles and not guns. (extension: autocannon = cannon-sized automatic weapon, usually at least 20mm calibre, and rarely bigger than 30-35mm) * Canon = a collection of religious texts used as their definitive textual reference by a religious community.
