Terror from Beyond Guides and Video

Recommended Posts

Our guild Postmortem has been putting together guides for Terror from Beyond. The Story Mode content is largely complete, as well as the guides to the first 2 bosses in hard mode.

The Hard Mode guides include both video and written guides.

The written guides are located at http://www.postmortem-guides.com/

The videos are on youtube at http://www.youtube.com/user/postmortemswtor/

Thanks! Dulfy's guides are great, but tend to focus more on just getting it done. Its really easy to just follow the steps without actually developing an understanding of the fight (which goes to show how well written they are).

We wanted to provide enough information for people to really understand the fights and how they work and maybe tweak/change the strategies for their raid team with that in mind.

On that note... the written guide for Kephess the Undying HM & SM is complete

I'm curious about the trash before the 3rd boss. At a point you come to a room with two of those core things. How exactly do you clear that room. Walking in appears to aggro both groups, and we tried stealthing in and found that you immediately go into combat when you enter the room. Do those switches actually do anything? Are we just lacking in gear to clear this room?

Ah ... yeah....we wiped a few times on that trash room before we got it down.

Supposedly if you have a stealther they can stealth out of combat click the switch and it opens the door so that everyone can run out. However, we have never been able to get that to work, so we just kill the room.

When we come in we immediately cc the suppressors. They throw atomic tears that do a large amount of damage to the raid, and were the biggest cause of our wiping. There are 4 suppressors - 2 in the front and 2 in the back. Everyone is also really careful not to stand in the lightening from the data cores, since that is the 2nd highest source of damage and is completely avoidable.

Once the suppressors are cc'ed, our dps focus target the left data core, while the tanks pick up as many of the other decompiler adds as possible. Once the first data core is down, we kill the second core as quickly as possible. After that we clean up all the decompilers and then kill the suppressors one at a time.

Getting the suppressors cc'ed as quickly as possible is the key to making that room manageable. If you don't have enough cc's the tanks should target the remaining suppresors, as the atomic tear is interruptable.

@KoldFuzio,

One other thing for the trash in that room, its vitally important for people to be cognizant of the lightning. It seems obvious, but its really easy to focus on getting into position to CC/pickup/DPS the mobs in that room and stand in the lightning for even a second or two. When we had more than one person accidentally standing in the lightning, or worse at the intersection between the two datacore lightning fields, it almost always let to half the raid dying before the end or a wipe as the healers tried to deal with the extra damage.

As Errell implied, good communication within your raid for who is CCing which suppressors, and fast DPS on the datacores will end up being the key to handling this room smoothly.
