What is the point of ranked in this game?

Aside from being 4v4 only, taking 1-2 hours of queue time and awarding more of the same ****.. whats the point of this? Shouldnt effort and rewards be focused into things that you can actually play on a regular basis in the game? Like operation, flashpoints, warzone, etc? Ranked in this game is just a joke.

Heres what you should do if you still dont wanna do cross server and still want a leaderboard. Remove ranked.

Make two queue:

-Warzone: with its own leaderboard with rankings, only includes the warzone maps.

-Arena: with its own leaderboard with rankings, only includes 4v4 arena maps.

Max group of 4 for both. This will dramatically lower queue time for arena. Leaderboard is simply two section system. People will feel like they progress what ever they do in pvp. It also reduce the possibility of troll, afk, toxic. Simply because your leaderboard ranking will be based on what you do alone in your gametime, instead of a bunch of afker for the quests, make people play. If they wanted to troll or afk, they werent gona play pvp without the quest being the only reward. Its like the old lost money pirating argument. Pirating is wrong, but its not lost revenue, because people pirating your stuff on average wont buy it anyway. Well toxic afker werent gona pvp if there is no quest to let them get **** being afk.

As of 5.0, where the Ops Dev team was preoccupied, SWTOR decided to push players into PvP to pacify, buy time.

The problem is that 1) queues are imbalanced, often no healers on one side, 2) most players are/were PvE, the effect was that newer PvP players who were good at PvE think PvE strategies work in PvP.

To beat enrage timers in PvE you need big DPS, but in PvP big DPS is pointless if you're not achieving goals/objectives, luring opponents away from caps...etc, or don't know what/who to focus 1rst in ranked matches (save mercs/mando's/tanks for last, they take longer, CC heals....etc)

End result, players are avoiding solo queues for ranked, just ripping out the dailies in regs to get geared.
