Hey everyone,

We wanted to take a moment to reach out to the community to collect ideas on set bonuses. We are looking for opinions on current and previous set bonuses as well as concepts for future. This thread will cover Lightning and Madness Sorcerers/Telekinetics and Balance Sages.

Note: Our intent is to have set bonuses not increase DPS by more than 5%. Please keep this in mind when posting your suggestions.

Current Level 60 Set Bonuses (for reference)
  • 2-Piece: Turbulence or Force Serenity and Thundering Blast or Force Leech increase alacrity by 2% for 15 seconds. Cannot occur more than once every 30 of seconds.
  • 4-Piece: Reduces cost of Lightning Strike and Force Lightning or Disturbance and Telekinetic Throw by 2 and reduces the cooldown of Polarity Shift or Mental Alacrity by 15 seconds.
  • 6-Piece: Lightning Strike and Lightning Bolt or Disturbance and Telekinetic Burst reduce the cooldown of Recklessness or Force Potency by 1 second.

Wait, doesn't the two piece set bonus increase damage by 5% for 15 seconds following turbulence and force leach? Certainly not alacrity which is the whole reason for using the 186 four piece.

Its 2%, not 5.

Simples, give us the old 4-piece set bonus in place of the new 6-piece set bonus

Are the devs looking into changing the PvP and PvE set bonuses like pre-3.0 or will they be the same? The PvP set bonuses for Sorcs were very helpful with survivability.

You totally missed the point... The 2-piece is changing the damage dealt, not the alacrity. Unless you made some change without putting it in the patch notes.

Damage not alacrity was the point

Unsurprisingly they have issues with balance

The alacrity bonus from the dread forged/master 4 piece needs to be added to the 6 piece, whatever you have to take out to do it. It is just so massively better than anything the 6 piece has. Not just that its 200-400 DPS higher, but the playstyle is better. Lightning feels horribly slow without that alacrity.
