demotivator
Hey, I was wondering if I could hear about your experience if you have tried soloing this fight. HK is easy... till he gets the "Power of the Core" buff which will completely destroy you and your companion. He gains this buff if you fail to hit the 4 consoles before his ~12 second timer expires. The thing is that I have him as focus target so I am 100% sure that I manage to release him before it runs out (even if that's real tight), I can confirm this as I don't see the buff coming up as I do when I fail to release him in time (he instantly gains the buff in that case). But no matter if I do it in time a few seconds later he will still gain this buff and the fight is over. Is it some kind of anti-solo mechanic (like the world boss on Coruscant)? Is it just bugged? (he shouldn't gain this buff if you click the consoles fast enough) Or am I just that bad that I can't survive his buff? (I'm almost full 180 healer, my tank companion in a mix of 180-168) Thanks for any insight. [EDIT: just tried again and I can confirm that I hit again the 4 consoles before the "Engage Core" buff is off yet he still gets his "Power of the Core" buff a few seconds later. Uploading a video on YT.] Edited October 27, 2014 by demotivator

I've soloed HK on a juggernaut tank, mixed 168/174/180 gear with Jaesa in 168 gear and just burned him down asap before he could even engage the core. Blew my heroic moment and all 8 legacy powers. It helps that I have a full suite of toons so with 970 presence Jaesa hits like a truck, including a 168 hilt handed down from my sorc when she upgraded to 180. I've only done it once, cos Revan coughed up a stasis chamber as well and all I wanted were 2, so I might have got a lucky bug, I suppose, but the fight was over in 30 seconds with jugg tank/jaesa comp. Sith-Viscera
Use to solo it all the time on my Jugg and Bounty Hunter , other toons i soloed it after i reach about 7 levels higher then it called for. Dont know if that helps but, it is, what it is.

MegatronShredder
When he starts channeling his Power to the Core ability, HK will have damage immunity while channeling and a few seconds after it is done or stopped. So you only will be taking extra damage when he successfully gets powered by the core. So there shouldn't be any problem with soloing the boss unless you dying to adds or excessive damage from his damage buff.

I am fully aware how HK gets his "Power of the Core" buff (read my first message), he gets it if you fail to shoot the 4 consoles before his "Engage Core" buff wears off. The problem is that even in that case a few seconds later he will still use his buff. Edited October 28, 2014 by demotivator
MegatronShredder
Here is a link to an old guide on dulfy http://dulfy.net/2012/01/17/mini-flashpoint-guide-hardmode-foundry/ It kind of states that it's buggy with the switchs on HM.
demotivator
Are you referring to this part: "When the core comes down, you don’t want to unlock him too too fast nor too slow. If everyone click on the console the instant they become active and can be destroyed, the game may not recognize this and cause the core to not go up and HK-47 to gain Power of the Core buff (1). With this buff, HK-47 will pretty much two shot your tank and one shot everyone else when he snipes (the buff increase HK-47’s damage by 50%, but it seems a lot more than that). At the same time, you don’t want to take too long to release HK-47 from the core. HK-47 actually have a timer ticking down – this is a buff called Engage Core and lasts for 11.5 seconds. If the core doesn’t go up once this buff expires, he will gain power of the core. (2)" (1) Being alone it is easily avoidable, no way you can click them all at once. (2) In the video that I have uploaded I have hit the last console 4 seconds before his "Engage Core" disappears so I was still within the window where he shouldn't gain his buff. When dulfy says that "If the core doesn’t go up once this buff expires, he will gain power of the core" is it meant litteraly, as in hitting the fourth console before the timer wears off is not enough but the core also has to be up (it takes a few more seconds to go up after you shoot the last console)? In that case I am not sure how anyone is able to do it alone. Edited October 28, 2014 by demotivator
Torvai
In that case I am not sure how anyone is able to do it alone. Raw dps No seriously, if you're on a healer with a tank comp you lack dps. When I solo him on any of my dps toons he's pretty much dead before the core even goes down for the first time.
