A silly question...

Sorry for such a newbie question, but....

Is there a way to go back to planets that you have been to before, if you don't have a quest there?

There are some things I would like to go back and do on Alderaan, Tattooine and so forth.

Thanks.

Use your personal ship ....but it is old way, new way - open galaxy map and click where you want to go.
See your keybindings for shortcut.
There is no ignorance - there is knowledge.

The fastest, cheapest way to travel to the older planets is to use your solo activities tab. The original planets all had heroics and you can quick travel to the heroic terminals for that planet from the solo activities window.
Stealthy heals, stealthy dps, stealthy tank.

Just to flesh this out a bit more. For the most part, you can go wherever you want whenever you want. That isn't always advisable though, as you could enter into areas meant for a much higher level. Some planets (I'm thinking perhaps Zakuul and Iokath, maybe even now Onderon & Mek-Sha) are story gated, but all "vanilla" planets are accessible as soon as you get your personal ship.
You simply need to access the galaxy map and find it. As the others suggested, you can either do that using the interface on your personal ship, or you can open the "galaxy map" menu, typically located in one of the menus at the top of the screen. (Unless you have reconfigured your UI.)

To go to Belsavis, you must go to Belsavis.
