First off, great game. Just purchased it and am thoroughly enjoying it.

 

But what is with the camera?

 

1) The max zoom distance is way too short. For ranged classes and a variety of other circumstances you need to have a much larger field of view.

 

You can alter the game files but then you get disappearing characters and a host of other issues.

 

 

2) Camera view being blocked by structures and terrain.

 

As you move around, large portions of the screen are repeatedly blocked by some structure or terrain feature. In areas with different elevation levels the camera zooms in and out like a yo-yo.

 

Incredibly distracting and annoying.

 

 

3) Constantly having to re-zoom the camera back out.

 

 

Need to find some way to stabilize the camera as well as increased max zoom.

Instead of going into the ini files, you should have checked the simple options ingame:

 

Esc - Preferences - Controls - Camera:

 

Camera Max Distance

Enable/Disable Camera Pivot

That was the first thing I tried

Then I don't understand the issue tbh, at least regarding the zoom distance. If you set it to 100% you can zoom out until your char is very small in the frame. Edited July 13, 2019 by Phazonfreak

When you log in or get off a speeder, for example, and hit your max zoom keybind,

 

The camera will only zoom out a short distance.

 

You have to manually hold zoom out until you reach the distance of your preference.

I've found that binding zoom level to the scroll wheel on the mouse is helpful.
