Questionable Subscription Practice

If I have made a mistake or missed something, then please correct me if I am wrong.

I was wondering what the deal is with the subscription cancellation services. Why is it that after playing the game for multiple years and purchasing multiple subscriptions/cartel market items I can't cancel without being demoted to free to play even though I would be considered a preferred player (As stated in the cancellation screen), "Your account will move to Free-to-Play status if you cancel your subscription". I may be miss reading the warning when I attempt to cancel my subscription but I find it a bit disappointing that if true the cancellation of subscriptions would result in demotion to free to play status even though since the games release have only ever played as a sub or a preferred player. To give some context I have never bought a subscription that hasn't been the 60 Day ONE-TIME purchase before so I have no idea how this works. If anyone could tell me whether or not this demotion happens, it would be much appreciated.

It isn't F2P status. No matter what, you'll always be put into Preferred Status. It's most likely a miss type or something. So don't fear.

Many Thanks,
It's good to know that I won't have my preferred status removed
