Not sure either, although there is "White Lightning", a British brand of extremely pale 8% abv cider that has a bad reputation as the preferred tipple of homeless people who can't get hold of spirits. (For technical reasons, cider won't normally go beyond 8% abv.)(1) Information for Americans in the audience. When I use it, the word "cider" means what you might know as "hard cider", an *alcoholic* drink. (1) Mostly because at that level, the yeast *starves*. Grape "must" contains more sugars than apple juice, so wine can get to 12-14% at which point the yeast is killed by the alcohol. Focuses and Shields *do* have crystal slots. EDIT: "Shields" because Assassin tanks have lightning attacks. Maybe not tuning items per se, but along those lines, rather than a crystal? A crystal is at best two colors, a base and an outline color, while a slot specifically designed for lightning effects would be more like companion customizations, with entirely new animation to the lightning possible as well as color.
