Vengeance Viable endgame vs Immortal?

Jugg's offer more effectiveness as tanks for 2 reasons:

 

1. Jugg tanks have the best defensive coodowns making them the best single-target tanks in the game if you can keep threat.

 

2. Jugg DPS isn't great, it is average. Having a marauder or powertech as melee dps is better.

 

This isn't meant to discourage you from going vengeance. It is a fun spec to play and as long as you are good at it and you know the fights, you should be fine. You just have less room for error than Marauders or Powertechs, because you do about 10% less damage.

Yes, Vengeance is viable for jugg endgame dps. I run mine through hm tfb and nim ec with no issues and am alwqys within 1-3% of our marauder and merc dps, and within 5-6% of our sniper. Dont let anyone tell you jugg dps is not viable. They do not know what they are talking about.

Vengeance is fine, it isn't 10% less on overall end of the day damage. It's on par. The rotation is just more difficult to manage and really requires technical perfection. The slightest error can drop you 50 dps and it's harder to recover from the loss. If you continue to mess up, you will hit a base line and not be able to catch up to those other classes.

 

Just make sure you have your stat priorities right and pay attention to your rotation. The training dummy is a good friend of yours.

Veng dps has huge potential in pve. On most fights if you handle yourself well you will be able to out dps any class. Jugg tanks do not make the best tanks in the game, assassins do. But they have a more complex rotation and therefore there are fewer decent sin tanks. Jugg tanks are great, and agro isn't an issue if you don't mess up your rotation right off the bat. With the way taunts work in this game, threat is a non-issue as the fight progresses anyways.

 

My advice is simply to play whatever you find the most fun. Vengeance can be hugely rewarding if you put the time into learning it and optimizing your gear, so if you want to dps don't let public opinion on jugg dps sway you. Most of us just suck. >,<

in what universe assassin tank rotation is hard?

also, immo/veng hybrid tank is better mitigation, just a bit harder time holding aggro on trash mobs, but who cares for trash... not to mention jump jump is fun fun.

 

how does rage doing in operations? you can put out 2.200 dps on a ship dummy, can't you?
