I've made a few character renames in the past but have been unable to make more after the 1 i made a few months back post server merger. Did the abilities change after the merge to one player rename because I was told it should allow me to make others after a couple of weeks and it's been months. Other issues like character server moves and additional player slot purchases have also been affected since the merger but the name change is number 1. Thanks in advance!

Do you mean the same char, or different chars?

You get one free one, which you use here, and it sends a token to the char you want to rename.

But to rename more, you'll have to buy a token from the GTN or Cartel Market for each one.

I think you have to wait a certain amount of time to rename one you've just done, but no limit on renaming other chars.

Just need a token each time

The cooldown timer for a character rename is 30 days if you use it on the same character. Apart from that I don't see any indication that there is a max limit on renames, since they are a Cartel Market item and a source of income for EA/BioWare.
