Moonraker
I play the game because its just an amazing game, they have added so much to it over it's 2 year life. Sure it wasn't complete when it launched but it has made huge leaps and bounds since. I don't post on the forums a lot because I am sick of the crying and whining. It is really pathetic. There are a lot of things i would like to see added like we all do but, I am not going to say this game is horrible because it doesn't have this or that because the game is fantastic. I will be here for the long haul and I hope it sticks around for years to come. Lets face it, people want to compare it to WoW but if that game didn't exist then I think people would be trying to compare other games to this one. If you people actually played the game instead of forum trolling then you might actually enjoy it. Add some suggestions that will improve your experience instead of crying about everything you can think of to get attention in your posts because thats pretty much what the forums have turned into "lets see who can complain the most and get the most replies". SHM you people need to play the game and have fun and get over yourselves because the world doesn't revolve around YOU.

Hezip
This is indeed a bit ironic. You complain about people ''crying'' and ''whineing'' about this game yet you are doing the same thing right now. Except you whine about forums not the game. You didn't even give a good reason as to why people shouldn't be dissapointed about this game etc. I used to love this game, but after nearly 2 years of playing i find that they just stuff us with dailies with the ocassional new op and fp. Sure that is the way I see it,problem is this games target point was to casual players. For casual players they should have made something like an open world game.Maybe something like SWG. Instead they implemented ops ( including HM & NiM ) into the game which was a big dissapointment to casual players and even the ''hardcore'' players are dissapointed with lack of end game content. To sum things up the game started as a mainly social game but they slowly moved in to ops and fp ( which in my opinion lacks variety as we only get new ops/fp per few months ) which made casual players not satisfied and also ''hardcore'' players not satisfied due to lack of the content. EDIT: People keep giving suggestions but 90% of the time they are either ignored or anwsered with ''This games enging cannot hold such entities'' Edited January 26, 2014 by Hezip
Smuglebunny
Wow it sucks that after high school or more none of you can read a short paragraph. Thats pretty sad on u guys.
Expo-Nential
That really isn't a wall of text. More like a chubby paragraph. It is a classic whining about whiners thread, and even though it isn't a new sentiment, and it never goes over well in the forums; I agree that many people would probably be better off doing something/anything besides QQing in the forums about dumb stuff. Telling people to slash their wrists because they typed /thread is a harsh overreaction. Edited January 26, 2014 by Expo-Nential

Moonraker
Really no different than forums anywhere online, most people come to complain (get their voices heard), not praise. EXACTLY, and I said what I said because the people were only here to bash me for what I wrote. Paragraphs or not, I am not here to write an essay for you to grade, I am only typing out things I feel like addressing and your comments were completely pointless, so either post a meaningful reply or just quit posting to jump your post count. The question is, do you want your message read or not? Yes, it is short enough that readers should not be complaining about "wall of text," but how you wrote your message, makes it harder to read and comprehend. Further, because it is a single paragraph, a majority of readers are not going to bother (they see ten lines of uninterrupted text and they think, "OMG. This is gonna suck," and don't bother). Maybe you are not submitting a paper to be graded, but you do want forum-goers to read it. Treat a forum post like writing an e-mail a supervisor and you are far more likely to get your point across. I play the game because its just an amazing game, they have added so much to it over it's 2 year life. Sure it wasn't complete when it launched but it has made huge leaps and bounds since. This game was not ready to be released when it was, so a lot did not work as intended and there were a lot of missing features. But the developers have done a LOT to improve the game in its short time in existence. I also agree that too many come here to only complain; they do not provide viable solutions to the issues they have; all they say is, "FIX IT NAU!!! It's easy!!!" When in fact the opposite is true - what they want is not easy to impossible, or what the complainers want done would benefit the individual but be a disaster for the community. That being said, this is the norm. The overwhelming majority of customer comments (regardless of industry) are going to be complaints, because it is human nature to voice complaints and remain silent when happy. Andryah
1) The forum dialogue is miles better then it was two years ago. 2) Complaining about complainers does no good. Why? Because it too is non-constructive, and does nothing productive except invite yourself to be attacked for it. If you want to effect change, then stay rational and discuss the complaint in the context of the issue it represents. Now, doing so tends to make the complainer even more emotional sometimes, but the fact is.. they opened a discussion in a public forum so they earned all types of discussion by their actions, not just puppets lining up to agree with them. Lunafox
Wow it sucks that after high school or more none of you can read a short paragraph. Thats pretty sad on u guys. Well, I think it's because this is 'the age of twitter'. People's attention spans are now more geared to text length messages. I read it, but a spacing half way through would have made it easier on my eyes. I'm old lol. Like the OP said, the forums can get pretty toxic at times, can't deny that. The game is great, but like another said after playing for 2 years or more, and all you get are basically dailies, people are going to at best, suggest new things, or at worst, tear down what's happening. The_Grand_Nagus
If you dont like reading the forums, dont do it. It really couldnt be any simpler than that. If you have a problem controlling your own actions, that is a personal problem that has nothing to do with the forums.

Pretty much this. Hate me all you want but Bioware took the F2P model and Cartel Market for granted. Before all that crap we had patches coming in with great stuff constantly. I don't mind the F2P model and in fact it's good that it ''saved'... Besides having complains about this game on the forums is nothing special. Many people leave their opinions before they leave and others just troll with unconstructive trolling. It's like this in pretty much every other forums. DarthTHC
I think the OP's enter key is broken. Also, complaining about complainers. Isn't there some sort of rule against that? Or at least a vortex of contemptuous irony that one can be swept into for doing it?

Well... it is sort of a meta-discussion... and meta-topics tend to be inflammatory (or perceived so) and get people worked up...so yeah. But Eric and staff appear to be more tolerant of meta-discussion then prior moderation teams. So I don't know. The most recent exception being the spat of throw-away accounts (gained by exploiting the friend referral mechanics) deliberately disrupting the forum. But that appears to have been handled and gone now.

What's poison are the handful who try to make it that way and put forth the effort to fabricate perceptions depicting it as much.
