How about releasing some Onslaught trailer Bioware?

'Cause you know, it's suppoused to be out in less than 2 weeks yet no one except die-hard SWTOR players knows about the upcoming expansion's existance

Doesn't even have to be any Blur CGI million $ cinematic bonznaza (no hope for that anymore), just whatever in-game footage you can slap together in Windows Movie Maker in 5 mintues. Would still be more more marketing than total ZERO it's been thusfar :rak_02::confused:

A trailer? For an expansion? What do you think this is, an MMORPG run by one of the by far wealthiest corporations in the AAA video game industry and based on one of the biggest money-making IPs in the world?

...oh wait.

I think the effort and money they've paid into getting a system nobody likes so far is the reason there's no trailer and a shorter story, bummer. Some kind of anything *Big/ Shiny/Substantial/Hype would've invigorated the members and attracted others. Yes your right, there doesn't seem to be many that even know, still chatter about Ex Members just now hearing/ reading about *Onslaught, "Tempest in a Test Tube".

Does Onslaught have much story? Ossus and Dantooine certainly don't have enough story to warrant it.

Unless Onslaught is going to have as much story as KOTFE or another major expansion, I don't see why they would create a trailer for it.

All I keep hearing about is gearing and PVP, with a few comments about pretty eye candy in location design, so I'll be surprised if there's much story at all.

Ossus and Dantooine were patches, where as Onslaught is an actual expansion. There is hope that there might be as much story as SoR had. I personally don't hold out much hope for a solid, consistent and enjoyable story, but that's where a teaser trailer would really help me along. I want to get excited damn it!

BioWare is calling this an Expansion and there is a new story but it really seems they've put a good deal more effort into this system then into the story and SWTORs progression (The biggest reason people come here). Without much effort to do much of anything, splitting that effort is never a good idea, add to that devoting Most of that effort to create a "Totally New" system designed to slow people down. There was never a chance for a Trailer, much less any FanFare (advertising).

The trailer is going to be toons giving credits to a vendor....then losing. At some point, in the trailer, it will cut to a scene of a casino with people putting money in the slot machines. Then it'll cut back to the same toons still giving credits to a vendor.

As much as I like their trailers I think budgetwise they should focus on in-game stuff over trailers. If I had to list what I'd like to see in order, but not cost effective, it would be:

1. Character customization overhaul:

- A. Voices related to race instead of class

- B. Height, weight and age sliders

- C. Non-Galactic Basic Standard races

2. Companion options:

- A. Don't get companion on starter world

- B. You have to go to the specific planet that companion lives on to recruit it

- C. You can pick up ANY of the available companions from both factions unless they hate the opposite faction

- D. You have to do a recruitment chain to unlock

3. Class changes:

- A. Imperial Agent Operative ranged spec (need a ranged blaster spec)

- B. Trooper Vanguard ranged spec (need a ranged blaster spec)

- C. Smuggler Scoundrel ranged spec

- D. New class though I have no clue what that would or could be

4. More story:

- A. The more story the better so stick with the story

5. New events on old worlds:

- A. Just to keep old worlds lively.

6. More content:

- A. Whatever the community wants such as Flashpoints, Operations, Story, etc.

7. CG trailers:

- A. I love their trailers but I don't watch them more the a couple times so not THAT important though I do enjoy them.

We got a trailer for Jedi Under Siege and this expansion has a new operation, flashpoint, two new planets, etc so it warrants it lol. But I think we might get one the day before or on launch day.

I feel they don’t want to promote it as much early in fear of servers not been enough for launch if they do a big promotion.

While I can genuinely appreciate the excitement many are looking for...

I really apologize..

But frankly I about a half step away from burnout right now !

Ah man. Don't get emotionally wrapped up with the idea of 6.0, it's about out and you can begin a new grind! And, maybe it's not so bad. We will see. Don't count the game out now, at this point.

I don't know how much a commercial campaign would help SWTOR with Onslaught, but I am surprised they are not promoting it. Any promotion would be better than none, and for people unaware of SWTOR it would draw their attention and perhaps bring in new players.

Hard to justify not doing any promotions unless they simply can't/don't want to spend the money on commercials.

This argument pops up every time and well... it's just totally inadequate and wrong. Marketing budgets (which the trailers fall under) are separate from game dev budgets (or movie making budgets for that matter). To make is simple - EA not greenlighting production of a trailer doesn't suddenly mean "here devs, have 3 million $ more to make more content". It just doesn't work this way.

I'm doing a bit better... It was just one of those days with all of the negative posts .. BW pretty much ignore most of what was being posted from players..

You know the drill !

And for whatever it's worth I agree.. we're pretty much on the same page !
