Nar Shaddaa

I agree with you! Nar Shaddaa is my favorite planet of all time in Star Wars. I love reading about it, seeing it, playing through it on kotor 2 over and over and keep on coming back to it.

I like the feel it has to it. You feel like smuggler when you go there as a smuggler. You feel like an Imperial Agent spy when you go there as an Agent. It has a nice mysterious luster to it that I cannot get away from. If I could have an instance on Nar Shaddaa, that's where I would choose my home to be :)

Nar Shaddaa is the planet I see the biggest potential in to expand and add features.

Could be ten times bigger though, and with actual traffic on the streets.

2nd place Tattooine

3rd Belsavis Tomb Area, love this place

But I expect they'll abandon old planets and move on to the next one for a new marketing campaign

Technically it's a moon, NOT a planet. Just saying. :D

Either way, I agree completely. It's one of those places I always feel gutted, when I'm done with it in the game. Empire side is particularly captivating for me, especially with a SW and IA.

Holy D'oh, Batman. I never thought to hide my UI while travelling. Good idea, lol. I *have* wished we had the option not to fade to black/insta-travel on Makeb. It's a beautiful planet. I'd really like to see it.

If you hide your UI on Makeb you actually don't fade to black during travel. BUT it's insanely fast, so everything just blurs by like you're going at Mach 30.

Yeah, they got lazy with that, or maybe people were complaining about the taxi rides?

Aside from nice views, I also like taxi rides as a chance to sort my crew skills, check my achievements, check my quests, look at gear, whatever... it's a nice moment to pause and make sure you are set going into the next area. I know you can just stop and do that anyway, but I like taxi rides, it's like an enforced break from killing everything you see :p

Yes, I love Nar Shaddaa as well. And I have taken plenty of screenshots during taxi rides without UI. The reflections in the windows are crazy. And all the colourful lights... nice.

(...) 3rd Belsavis Tomb Area, love this place (...)

Really? I mean... really? I know YMMV, but to me this is by far the most dreadful, horrible part of the whole game. What can be enjoyed there?

Here is how you travel to Nar Shaddaa.. in STYLE :D

Really? I mean... really? I know YMMV, but to me [bELSAVIS] is by far the most dreadful, horrible part of the whole game. What can be enjoyed there?

hmm.. I enjoy the layout of the tomb area, the snowy atmosphere.. and the whole Rakata ancient archeology mysthic feeling.. reminds me of Daniken and Ancient Aliens somehow :D

The rest of Belsavis can be kicked though, the prison and high and low security areas.. meh

Section X is on Belsavis too, but that is pretty cool

For every planet there are fans and haters who cannot comprehend each other's point of view. To be honest I get sick of all the "I hate this planet" stuff in General Chat you get on every single damn world. Sometimes I wish people would keep it to themselves, as it becomes very wearisome after a bit. Okay you hate this planet, but what the hell do you want me to do about that? :)

But having said that, as I am a total hypocrite I'm going to ignore my own counsel and say that personally I dislike all the urban planets rather passionately. My heart sinks and I die inside a little whenever a character of mine arrives on Coruscant or Nar Shaddaa. Corellia is just about bearable due to those funky rocket tram lines, and the fact that less of it has that horrible, cramped "indoors" feel than the other two, but only just.

Coruscant was particularly disappointing for me. You barely get the feel of that breezy, skyscraper city from the movies. You only have that atmosphere around the Senate Tower. Once you go adventuring the place feels exactly like Nar Shaddaa, and you might as well be on a Space Station or underground on an asteroid for all the feel of Coruscant it has.

I'd be happy if all the city planets got bombed into a Taris-like state. Give me the wide open spaces or Tatooine and Hoth any day. :)

EDIT : Totally changed my mind. I had completely forgotten about that amazing chase through the flying traffic in the Shroud quest. Some of the most fun I've had in this game was on those two linked heroics, and they totally outweigh and redeem all of the rest of Nar Shaddaa's awfulness in my eyes. So only Coruscant is left on the hate list now. ;)

I have to admit that I envy you a little bit for this. I wished I could even come close to that sort of feeling for the tomb area. But then again I am lucky, because I kinda like all other planets, even Quesh. ;) So, even if I despise Belsavis in the strongest way thinkable :D this is at the end just a very small percentage compared to the rest of the game.

And as someone else mentioned here as well: The ship-jumping mission on Nar Shaddaa in the Shroud-heroic was/is also one of my most favourite parts of the entire game. It reminds me of "Shadows of the Empire" and the "Jedi Knight" games. The good ol' days. ;)

I love Nar Shaddaa. Taking the taxi reminds me blade runner. You glance down and see a maze of miles and miles of exploration. I just wish the gaming industry was advanced enough to create something that big so you can adventure in for days. I wish the places you can go had more NPC activity, maybe groups of people that run away when the guns or sabers come out. Have some aliens scream and cower in the corner as you extinguish some scumbag that pickpocketed you a moment before. Make the NPCs interactive. Wow..I went off on a silly tangent :w_embarrass:
