BW it's time to admit your Kai Zykken experiment has failed.

It's been a month and he still has not put up a single (properly working) biochem schematic. The same synthweaving set has shown up twice. One week he only has a single thing which is a set. Another he has two tacticals that were both bugged.

 

He is a failed experiment and utterly garbage design. Fix him. Do not wait until your crafting patch in december. Do it this coming week before he resets again. Make him always carry at least one tactical and one set or better yet make him carry at least one schematic from each crew skill.

 

Failed experiments are fine and how we learn. Sticking your head in the sand and pretending to act like the horrendously failed experiment is working perfectly is not fine.

Agreed. It was a fail idea because every week we see same garbage and not the thing we want. They should have put a restriction that same recipe won't appear 1-2 times in a row so we finally could get what we want. Better if it was an ordinary vendor with everything at once because this rng crap is getting more annoying each patch and results in players quiting the game

Of course it failed - it was idiotic to start with.

 

Had Kai been an OPTIONAL way to obtain items at a lower cost (e..g Kai's discount store) if and when they showed up in his selection, it might have been an interesting twist.

 

But no, they had to pick a couple of items that only affect a couple of classes and lock them behind absurd crafting requirements, then lock those schematics behind a random vendor, then screw all that up with bugged schematics.

 

ALL sets and tactical items should be available for purchase at all times from the regular vendors for the regular prices UNLESS they restrict the same number of desirable items for EVERY class.

 

Crafting should be used as a primary source for sets IF AND ONLY IF all classes have similarly desirable sets that are only available through crafting.

 

Crafted set schematics should be clearly labeled, available through multiple sources (again Kai should be for finding a discount, not the only source), and use reasonable materials in line with comparable vendor costs (e.g. a couple million in mats tops, not tens of millions when vendor items are one million).

Yeah, its not really working out, just triggering people. They should just make it all purchaeable and have us grind the Fragments for it.

Agree.

 

Either put everything on that vendor for every class, every crew skill, etc., or remove it altogether. Putting it up for a limited time frame was already a questionable decision, but having a very limited selection to choose from while it's available is just idiotic.

 

Keep the vendor's time frame and prices intact, but put everything on it, it's very simple.

It isn't just the Kai experiment which has failed , the whole gear / set acquisition system is terrible.

 

Depending on the class / spec played, set items may or may not be available on the vendor.

 

For most class / discipline sets, they are available - but for a few specs the desirable sets are dependent on random drops in specific (typically very narrowly specific as in restricted to the new op or fp) content or from crafting which relies on randomly available patterns that are usually bugged and even when not, have absurd mat costs

 

Similarly, some classes have disciplines that serve specific roles (damage, healing, tanking) and some do not, yet sets are not categorized by role / dsipline, just class.

 

So some classes have loot tables stuffed with role specific sets (such as healer sets) that will drop and be included in reward boxes when playing a discipline tied to a different role, and thus deconstruction trash - while other classes will have nothing but sets tied to their role (though all classes have trash filler sets).

 

Add in that even the generally available (as in on the vendor) sets are weighted as to sources, such as having higher chance to drop in reward crates, and you end up with crap like dps sorc / sages getting nothing but healer set gear over and over from their personal rewards.

 

All of this adds up to a very annoying system that instead of making gearing interesting and engaging, just ticks me off and leaves me to conclude the developers are either inept, or just being highly disingenuous if not outright lying when they make claims about how the system is supposed to work (as in play your own way, get useful items as rewards).

Terrible, just terrible. To this date, like a month into 6.0, a tactical that is highly anticipated, does not yet exist in game! I assume kai has the same loot table each week on all servers?

 

How the dusty **** r we supposed to obtain that jugy/guardian tactical if we can only craft it, but the *********** schematic refuses to show up on the goddamn vendor? Fix ur goddamn game, multitask! Git gud! SMH.

According to the designers, it's a matter of taste if you like Kai Zykken and his excitingly random schematic sales.

 

No one at BW has even acknowleged Kai Zykken not working as intended, because he is working as intended and they will be keeping this integral part of their RNG-based exciting™ system.

You are proving why they think RNG is so awesome... It keeps you playing, wanting, craving that wondrous awesome pixelated tactical! Fiending, no less! You won't stop till you get that tactical! And just imagine, how effing awesome it will be when you FINALLY get that tactical?! OMGZ!!!!!! *Head Explodes*

The end of the year wall is in place and those that went through not only this expansion but the final days of Fallen Order have taken their leave days and stress days and will not be back if ever until next year around march or so and they will then be tasked with doing something equally idiotic to some game that is not broke enough for them to leave alone.

 

The game is now how they intend. BROKEN

 

Kai Zykken oh well fancy shiny electronic pixels yawn doesn't do anything for me in 99% of content. WHY Bother.

 

Sorry but I am really tired of this game getting worse and worse.

I don't think that the Kai Zykken concept failed. I think it works. What's missing is the crafting schems dropping or being sold somewhere else.

 

I feel that they could add schems to the crafting vendors at a higher price and that Kai Zykken still gives the random ones cheaper.

 

What I think the truth is behind this (and that's why we also got buggy schems last week) is that they probably haven't finished all the schems.

he's always closed when I go to fleet, lol As such not seen any of the items he has to sell. a little disappointed by the reports coming in this thread. still things change such as the crafting changes next month so maybe after that Bw can look again at Kai. However if reports about the amount of craft mats needed to make anything, well not worth bothering with anyway as getting better gear as loot drops.

He's there on Fri, Sat, Sun and not the rest of the week.

There are automated food bowls now, for pets... you really ought to catch up on the technology available now. You sound a bit behind!

 

Don't be silly. They aren't using live animals to keep the servers up! They were able to re-assign the QA_Droid for that since there are no bugs in the game and he had nothing to do over on the bug forum.
