1) Rules and categories will be exactly the same as the previous thread, unless anyone has some good suggestions for changes (please let me know if you have any ideas).

 

2) Please refrain from posting records that do not have any realistic longevity for my sake, especially if they are popular categories. Your 6K HPS as a sorc is not going to last long :)

 

3) Farm games, whether it be group ranked or acid farming in huttball, will not be included if I find that is what happened. Mostly working on the honor system here.

Looking for some community input on these two topics:

 

1) There was a suggestion in the 4.0 thread that I add solo kills for each class, presumably to give people a chance against stealth classes. Does anyone have any opinions on this they'd like to share? I don't really see any reason not to add it, although I am inclined to split it into stealth and non stealth categories or another set of tiers (perhaps Ops, Sins, Mandos/Sorcs, and everything else?). Having multiple slots for solo kills for each and every class would be a lot more entries, I suspect many of them would have very low participation, and I'm not sure there's enough difference between a Marauder and a Juggernaut, for example, to merit having them in separate categories.

 

2) It seems to me that the biggest Merc/Mando heal category is kind of dead thanks to the new giant heal on the end of energy shield utility. If that heal is allowed the category will just be populated by whoever has the most HP when it pops with the full amount of stacks. We could roll with this but it would feel exceptionally...lame to me. On the other hand we could disallow the shield heal but I don't know of any way to definitively and realistically prove a heal wasn't just the shield heal with few enough stacks to pass as a really big healing scan. The only thing I can think of would be posting a screenshot of the members of the warzone AND screenshots of the log pulled up in starparse, showing the members of the combat log match and that the heal was a healing scan over a shield heal. This seems like an enormous hassle considering it wouldn't actually be totally bulletproof either. I find the latter option less distasteful but neither option is good. Thoughts?

i still think solo kill for each classes would be good

You might just have to deal with the merc heal shield unfortunately. A flaw of my thread was not knowing whether or not people farmed their numbers with their friends or did it truthfully, I had to roll with it. You could always reset it after a change or something, or even make a category for that ability so people can still post their healing ability ones in the one that's already there. Though it could look odd with mercs getting two lol

 

And it might get overtaken fast as hell but I wanna post it incase.

why are ppl posting 5k dps, he literally said not to post if it's a record that will be broken. Most classes hit 5k records in 4.0.....

 

Post your 8k DPS big boi. Also, most classes except for Deception Assassin. Most of the 5k + were dot specs.

You may post but I am going to let things simmer for a while before I update anything so I don't have to reset the positions of the early records repeatedly in the first couple weeks

 

Can you categorize the leaderboard by specs as well? It'll probably be a mess to keep updated, but just a suggestion.

Few updates:

 

1) I'll probably add the first round of screenshots next week.

 

2) There are no lowbie categories so if you are posting records from those brackets they will just have to compete with level 70 records.

 

3) With no realistic way to disqualify the ridiculous heal on the end of merc/mando shields I am choosing to close the category until it is nerfed or removed such that the records for the category would actually mean something. At this point it would literally just be a competition for who has the most HP when it pops with the full 15 stacks. I would rather just temporarily close the category.

 

4) For the sake of increasing fairness without adding an outrageous number of categories, I am splitting solo kills up into stealth and non-stealth categories. Also, I have removed the solo kills in arenas category.

I do not intend to split up records by spec. There are already a fairly ridiculous number of categories; splitting them up by spec would be too much in my opinion and also include the added hassle of forcing people to prove the spec they were playing. If you want to compete for sin dps you will probably just have to play hatred.

 

This is a purely pragmatic decision on my part, as some specs obviously have a distinct advantage over others.

 

edit: In the previous thread there were honorable mentions for achievements that did not fit nicely into one of the categories. If someone manages to pull some really stupid numbers in deception (and prove it) that are still below the inevitable hatred games against clumped enemies I have no problem adding a couple as honorable mentions.
