I run a type 3 scout in domination a decent amount, and I've found that the combination of faster reload and improved kill zone is pretty helpful for landing more EMP missiles. You obviously lose a lot of blaster power with this stunt, but an EMP on the node can really be clutch.

I've occasionally employed it in a T2 strike build, for much the same reason.
