Totemdancer
I’m placing my bet that 5.10 is “keyed” to be released on the 10th because the Paxton promo ends on the 14th December. If 5.10 was due to be released on the 3rd December, then I think the Paxton promo would be till the 7th. The same could be said if it was the 17th. Then the Paxton promo would be till 21st December. Of course this is all just a guess. We usually have double XP/CXP during a major release and last time they said they will now be doing it the week post release, not the week of release because of the issue we had last time (bugged patch). So my best “guess” is we’ll have a double XP/CXP event from the 18-24th December. IMO, it would probably be better this time to run it for 3 weeks and not one. Here are my reasons : 1. The week before Xmas is very hectic for most people with buying gifts, doing food shopping, pre Xmas parties or socialising. So that means 18-24th is a bit of a waste for a bunch of people. 2. Having it the week 5.10 goes live will attract even more people back that particular week and if there are glitches, you still have a few extra weeks of the event and you don’t really miss out on the double XP. 3. Having it a 3rd week will push it past Xmas and that is a good time to play because people are on holidays, family get togethers are over and you’ve got more time to play. Who else would like it to run for 3 weeks? Who else thinks the release of 5.10 will be the 10th December? Celise
I don't at all recall a time where Bioware were active on a Monday. My original guess was 4th Dec, but with Paxton incoming? it is more likely to be 11th, 13th or 18th Dec now. Since Fall ends on the 19th Dec, trying to bring it out on the 20th would put it outside the fall window, in effect, the estimated date offered was an intentional lie. I don't believe Bioware would intentionally lie about their release date though so as said just above, those are my new guesses.

So they will already be late by our standards. I still think the 10/11th is the most likely.
Celise
Australian fall doesn't concern American developers. The end of their fall is on the 19th Dec, that is their window.
sauceemynx
If you are going by the summer solstice, Australian summer this year begins on December 22. Northern hemisphere winter solstice begins on December 21st. However, I'm aware that in Australia it's convention to say the season begins on the first of the month. For the northern hemisphere: https://www.almanac.com/content/first-day-seasons For Australia: http://www.ga.gov.au/scientific-topics/astronomical/summer-and-winter-solstice So in a way everyone is right and everyone is wrong. It's a fascinating world!
Batwer
There will be a problem. Everything has moved then. I will knock at the end of December.
TUXs
There will be a problem. Everything has moved then. I will knock at the end of December. Better not be...by mid December they're on their month of Christmas break and don't return until mid January after the month of New Years.
Ghost_Spectre
Better not be...by mid December they're on their month of Christmas break and don't return until mid January after the month of New Years. As you well know Brother Tux, they (BW) have always dropped major updates just before Christmas and went on their merry way until after the new year. In doing so, they left us with a number of...ahem...issues with said updates that were down right maddening. I dare say, 5.10 will drop during the week of 17th, probably on the 18th giving them ample time to correct "any" issues prior to the start of their "holiday" the coming weekend. That is, if we look to their past historical track record of such things.

Storm-Cutter
Don’t forget all the holiday hack trolls that run amock in pvp while Bioware are on holidays every year. And if there is an exploit in the new patch, it'll be open season for a month or so. Turn your millions into billions!
Khaleg
The better and more relevant question is this one imho: When will they be back after releasing the update (and then dispappearing into the holidays+++) to fix the released bugs. And be sure there will certainly be bugs. The question is just how critical and annoying they are (remember the reset of all Yavin BG achievements everytime you logged out of the game for almost 3 months last year to name just one example?). Will it be 2 months later like last year when they just START to look into the bugs? I hope they have learned from mistakes but I have my doubts. :-) Edited November 22, 2018 by Khaleg

Trance-Gemini
I would really like to know when the double CXP is on again, so I can take the week off. I have to let my boss know in the next couple days if it's the week before Christmas.
darthscotty
I hate to rain on a good conspiracy theory because I do enjoy them. However, the Paxton release coincides with the anniversary of the games release so I do not think you can draw any conclusions for 5.10 based off of Paxton. That said my magic 8 ball tells me 12 / 11 is the most likely release date for 5.10.
assatrap
18 december.. they dont release stuff on mondays.... iam 95% sure 18th december WHY? because their plan to release is 11th december (early December).. but the devs as we know historically in past updates. It will be with 95% accuracy be pushed forward 1 week because they need to tweak and adjust stuff like they always have to (in vain). (3/4th december? lmao you rpers need to come back to reality) Which means if its released 18th... any major bug or exploitation that exists will probably be there the whole christmas and possible be fixed earliest mid/late January. So the Ossus area will most likely be a *****how for a few weeks. Just a heads up, this is what you can expect
