lol Funnest argument ever! You do realize you contradicted your self, right?

These two lines Specifically:

I agree that if they kill thousands of innocent workers on Death Star II at the battle of Endor something is not right here

Destroying Alderaan was necessary evil - the billions on planet was nothing to population of galaxy.

I don't have to explain that right? (Thousands vs Billions) I mean, "oh no! there were innocent casualties". It's called war friend....

And are the Rebels really terrorist? Think about this: Who were the ones using scare tactics? (Hint: The Empire)

Meh. Alderaan had it coming. Those weren't scare tactics. That was justice. :D

Alderaan did have it coming, my only regret is that i wasn;'t the one pulling the trigger.

On topic: Yes, the republic was hypocritical and corrupt, yes the jedi were hypocrites who thought they were above the law. still, the republic is approximately a billion times better than any form of the empire to live under.

Truth depend on point of view. In the films we see galactic civil war from eyes of rebels and Empire is shown as evil. But try to look on this from eyes of Empire's citizen. Armed and dangerous group attack your country's army - they are terrorists. Palpatine and few others maybe were evil but not everyone in Empire was. For example Stormtrooper which set blaster to stun to capture Leia, was killed by her with cold blood. He was only doing his duty, he was serving his country, he doesn't want to kill her only to capture her, yet she kill him (she knows that she couldn't escape or kill whole Star Destroyer so what the point of killing just one another Stormtrooper and maybe she killed someone's husband or father).

Well, if you put it in those terms. I was merely speculating from "guy watching a movie" point of view.

To actually live under the Empire's rule... Holy hell! I wouldn't last a day! I mean after all the RL Nazis were part of GL's inspiration for the Empire.

Oh. >.> I didn't see Ep IV in a while, my memory is a bit muddled. I'd say choking someone for calling their religion "ancient" is not much in the regards of freedom of religion though. Updated my own argument with a couple new points.

And then Motti got slipped a 10 spot under the table by his buddy because he won the "I can mouth off to Vader and survive" bet. :D

Hmm, I wonder why everyone in courscant was so happy after the battle of Endor and tore down the Emperor's statue...

Yes the rebels can easily be called terrorist, but I still think its obvious the ones using terror was the Empire. The Empire is all about control, but if you believe that's how a proper government should be... all power to ya...

Seriously, your examples suck... Leia knew they were "only" going to capture her? And again its called: war

OH. And not everyone on Alderaan was a terrorist. And the rebels are not terrorists.

The Rebels aren't terrorists?

Terrorism: "the use of violence and threats to intimidate or coerce, especially for political purposes."

- The Rebels long name was "The Alliance to Restore the Republic." The founders of the rebellion took to arms because they did not like the Republic becoming an Empire.

Terrorist: "a person, usually a member of a group, who uses or advocates terrorism."

- The Rebels, again, due to their stated goal of overthrowing the Empire to force a return of the Republic. Keep in mind that officially and legally, the Empire *is* the Republic, transformed.

In Star Wars games, especially those that don't purely follow a "good guy" / Rebel perspective, Imperial briefings sometimes make use of the term "terrorist" for the Rebels. In past Star Wars games, your objectives as a Rebel can oftenly be targeting civillian targets. This is very apparent even as far back as the old X-Wing games in the 1990s. Everything that existed in the Galactic Empire that did not support the rebellion is basically "Imperial" and is fair game to the Rebels. It's not necessary for the targets to be sporting the Imperial roundel/markings. What do you think those attacks against civillian corporations that had legitimate business with the official, legitimate galactic government were for?

That's right. To push a political and military issue. To overthrow the Empire and anything that supported it.

Now, it's perfectly legit to call the Galactic Empire as "evil" compared to the Republic. But it is also perfectly legitimate to call the Rebel Alliance as rebels, traitors, and terrorists.

I suppose, but then the American revolution would have been a terrorist movement. And why was most of the galaxy happy about the Empire falling?

Let's talk about why the Empire was better than the Republic:

Republic:

1. All we have in Senate is chaos and corruption, Chancelor is only representant.

2. Forbidden slavery still existed for example on Tattoine (Republic lovers will tell that Tatooine wasn't in Republic's jurisdiction)

3. In Republic we have Jedi Order - a group of arrogant fighters, which interfere in politics and because of their Force think they were above the Senate and can decided for them (for example decision to kill legally elected and supported by majority of Senate leader for his religion, or to take army created for Republic to attack neutral in that time CIS to rescue few Jedi Knights (they didn't know a senator was there because they ordered Anakin to stay with Padme on Tatooine) - all of Jedi decisions was explained as will of the Force.

4. Jedi can steal anything they want - for example Anakin make requisition of speeder on Coruscant.

5. Most businesses was run by big corporations like Trade Federation, which have own army, have corrupt senators and do whatever they want (invasion on Naboo)

6. Republic senatotr which lost theirs influences in Senate like Organa started a terrorist group of Rebels which killed innocent people - for example workers on Death Star II

Empire:

1. Order and peace with strong leader.

2. Slavery was mainly for lower species which can't speak Basic and at least it was taxed (Also there aren't any planet beyond Empire jurisdiction)

3. We have freedom of religion - nobody anymore must believe in Force which controls everything

4. Theft are punished - for example Jawas which stole droids.

5. Empire make things easier for small business - even smuggler like Lando start to run his own legal business on Bespin and it was still profitable to him.

6. I know that many will say now about Alderaan - but it was home of terrorist for 20 years. And about Luke's aunt and uncle it was all just another Kenobi's lie, the truth is here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WcvFjtbskZk

Because genocide and slavery are totally awesome.

Holy mother of Hutta! That is a twisted point of view. Lets analyse what is wrong with your many statements:

The rebellion movement took place after the uprising of the Empire which in itself took place after an order for genocide, slavery of other alien cultures and xenophobia. Look upon it as you would a revolution. This empire came to power through corruption and stood for nothing more than that.

The stormtrooper/general front line trooper army was made up of clones, not all of which were from Jango fetts DNA but were out sourced by the empire as it was found that clones from a single source could be altered to fight against the empire. Later the ranks were filled with others who enlisted. However the voices you hear in EP IV for the storm troopers are mainly the same hence clones.

Finally: When cornered with any sort of chance what would you do? Give up? Not shoot back? You forget Leia had just set R2 about his mission, so no doubt needed to set a distraction to avert the troopers eyes.

When do we see the Rebels execute moisture farmers? When do we see the Rebels occupy an entire planet to force their will on others? When do we see the Rebels destroy an entire planet?

You also go on to say that there were innocents working on the death star. No there simply weren't. There were imperial officers, military construction works and troops onboard, not to mention the combat engineers onboard, the royal guard etc. It was a military installation not a civilian one.

1. About slavery of lower species in Empire: monkeys, especially chimpanzees are pretty intelligent, we can already learn them much for example pushing buttons etc., they also have feelings, they sometimes happy and sometimes sad but is this means we have to give them civil rights? People instead of that locked them in cages i zoo and pay to watch them, isn't this slavery?

So you are saying Wookies are like monkeys (oh, monkeys can fly starships)? The Empire also did nothing against Twi'lek slavery. So you are saying the Twi'leks in Jabba's palace were like monkeys?

2. Datamonger send link with clerks discussion about rebel terrorism problem. Like them I agree that if they kill thousands of innocent workers on Death Star II at the battle of Endor something is not right here. Also for me group of armed people hidden on some abandoned planets who strikes against legal government and then again go into hiding are terrorists.

So if I understand you correctly, you would say during a war it is illegal to target the enemies weapon factories. You wouldn't do it, right?

3. Destroying Alderaan was necessary evil - the billions on planet was nothing to population of galaxy. And Empire didn't have a chance of removing Alderaan's terrorist by sending there Stormtroopers (it never works well, for example anti terrorist operations in our world)

And now you are saying in RL, if a country houses terrorists, it should be nuked into ashes. Do you really propose Afghanistan should have been completely destroyed after 9/11?

About monkeys which can fly a ship try to read about Enos. He was sent in space in Mercury-Atlas 5.During flight he has to push buttons and switches in correct order and he has done it. About Twi'lek slavery, who wouldn't want to have Twi'lek female slave?

It wasn't open war like Republic vs CIS, it was fight of government with terrorists, and all activities of terrorists are illegal. Empire maybe sometimes do evil things, but rebels are doing the same. But many people say that the rebels are the good ones so everything they do is good. What is the diffrence in killing innocent when one kills for maintain peace and order in his country and the second is killing in the name of freedom for republc?

And to Sambeta When do we see the Empire execute moisture farmers? In the film the only thing about this is Kenobi saying to Luke that this was Imperial's job - well I wouldn't believe Obi in anything. He only says thing from his point of view. He lied to Luke about his father, he could lie to him about his uncle and aunt (making Luke angry at Stormtroopers helps Kenobi take him on Alderaan to join rebels - before that Luke wants to join Imperial Academy) For me the real version of Owen and Beru death is that in film Troops - link in my first post.

Actually Luke wanted to join the Academy so he could defect to the rebellion just like his friend Biggs did. That's how most of the rebellion got their ranks through defection of those who saw injustice. It's pretty obvious it was stormtroopers that killed Owen and Beru. There is no such thing as coincidence remember, and the troopers did locate who the driods belonged to. Remember these driods weren't stolen by the Jawa's they were found and legally sold to the Lar's.

Your argument about obviously sentient beings is very flawed. Wookies weren't a small society of beings, they were an entire culture and planet same as twileks. I get the feeling you're just trolling for attention anyway but your views are completely biased and not rational.

If those former imperials who defected really believed in the Empire would they really of reconsidered their stances after witnessing what they did?

In our world many animals are creating something like society - herds, packs etc. with leader, jobs (some are hunting, some are scouts) and own rituals for example mating. Beavers even are building things like dams. I know they all are live beings but should we treat them as equal to humans?

About Jawas, if you find a case with million $ are you keeping it or reporting this to police? When they found those droids they should return them to Imperial lost&found office, maybe they will be even rewarded - but they decided to keep not theirs property so they stole them. Also sale wasn't legal because I didn't see any receipts in movie;p

You can't know what would happen if Luke joins Imperial Academy - i don't think he care about politics in that time, he just want to go away from Tatooine and after Obi involves him in fighting the Empire he stay with friends (because he was already brainwashed by rebels;p). If Obi and R2 would not shown up and he would join Imperials, maybe he would make some new friends there and stay with Empire.

In A New Hope we didn't see Stormtroopers killing Owen and Beru so it isn't so obvious, it can be just another Kenobi's lie. For me the real version of this is in Troops - after argue with Owen Beru uses thermal detonator to kill herself (because she thinks Luke run away when Owen lied about his father and forbid him to join the Imperial Academy) and Owen died when he tries to stop her. Stormtrooper were there just to maintain peace and then was wrongfully accused by notorious liar - Kenobi.

You are telling my point of view is wrong. But your only argument is that Empire was evil and rebels were good. For you everything is black and white, life isn't that simple - it's made from many shades of grey.

Okay fine lets look at further evidence of the empires deeds:

In the EU stormtroopers were seen to raid mercilessly and execute civilians who were suspected of being part of the rebellion. No evidence to prove either way and yet executions were still handed out to make an example. Does this sound familiar? It should do because that is what the Nazi's did. Your argument about Beru having a detonator is completely based on a fan made video that isn't cannon.

It's not even part of the EU, it's a parody. Next you'll be saying Palpatine was re-thinking his choices and turning to the light side as was falling to his death because of Robot Chicken. GL has the final say on all your theories and he categorically said the Empire is evil. There must of been a reason so many planets and systems wanted rid of the Empires oppressive stance.

Luke wanted to fight against the Empire after he finished with the moisture farming for another season. As I already said people from the Empire did defect to the rebellion.

Bad things happen on war. In our world's recent wars even in good and democratic country's armies we have examples of torturing prisoners of war or killing civils (fortunatelly mostly by accident but still) and does it mean that whole army of that country is evil or whole nation is evil? As I said not everything is black and white.

About Twi'lek slavery, who wouldn't want to have Twi'lek female slave?

You know, there is still slavery today. There are many female slaves sold into prostitution. And who wouldn't want a female slave for his own, even if she is human.

You would like this? You would like slavery to be allowed and only taxed? Really?

It wasn't open war like Republic vs CIS, it was fight of government with terrorists, and all activities of terrorists are illegal.

Do you consider Nelson Mandela a terrorist? (He was labled terrorist.) Would you support the South African apartheid government?

You also didn't really answer my question: After 9/11, should the US and allies have nuked Afghanistan into the ground?

Many our world countries want to rid of US. Is that make US evil?

Most of them was just angry on Empire because they lost their influences - Organa, Mon Mothma etc. lost their salaries as Imperial Senators which they were collecting for over 20 years and after the senate was no more they couldn't get any other normal job;p. Ackbar and Chewie have a good reason - Empire claimed them as lower species but the rest (mainly humans) was just fighting for power - Mon Mothma wanted to be Chancellor etc. or have some problems with law (and because of that with Empire) so they have no other option (rebels were mostly smugglers, thefts, traitors and other scum - one princess and few senators don't make diffrence;p).

And about celebration after Emperor's death - I agree about Endor, maybe Bespin (it was Lando's place) or Naboo (queens of Naboo always was rebelious and gungans were lower species) but on Coruscant it can be just some Imperial's Independace Day or something like that;p On Imperial City they must have thousands of Troopers and many Star Destroyer do you think they will let the people celebrate Emperor's death like this? You are saying they were evil so I don't think that such demonstration would take place;p

About Twi'lek female slave it was a joke. For me Twi'leks were always the most humanoid species and they deserve to be free. Maybe Empire wanted to do such thing but they were too occupied by terrorist attacks to resolve this problem?

About Mandela, for me he was a terrorist, I think he shouldn't fight in a way he does. Many countries change their political system from totalitarianism to democracy in more peacefull way. For example Poland in 1989 thanks to the Lech Walesa (he was awarded Nobel Prize in 1983).

About nuke Afghanistan - sending there troops was pointless. A lot of good soldiers died and still the mission is not succes, you can't win a war when you don't know who your enemy is (there can be even a child). The only way you can "win" is to completly destroy home of those terrorists and to sacrifice all innocents people living there, but this won't be real victory because you will be more evil than them. So that war shouldn't be started at first place because it was pointless. Empire didn't care if they were the evil ones so they destroyed Alderaan to maintain order in the rest of galaxy - from their point of view it was for greater good.

What did you want?

They took a plane and brought down the twin towers. And their goal is to take us down, not power. They just wanted to kill us all. And we sent troops there to help the citizens, not to go in a war.

When they get serious Nukes(Which is happening in Iran), we will be in a real war. Israel wants to take Iran out now before they get Nuclear power. Obama sent a warning to Iran just a week ago. Iran and North Korea, their building on Nuclear Power.

I just hope they calm down... because going to war with Iran will start a chain reaction with China and Russia at their side. And Israel is a major ally for us and allot of European Countries.

Its very complicated...
