Back to the game after a long long break.

I'm really looking forward for a x2 (or x5 maybe?) period to complete 2 of my character stories and level them at the same time. Can we expect such a period before 5.10 ? Do you have infos on it already?

We just had one so... unlikely.

You just missed a double-XP period, but we may well get one shortly before and/or just after the release of 5.10 in December, probably set up to coincide with the "festivities" for the seventh anniversary of the game going live.

 

A x5 period is highly unlikely to ever happen given the current XP structure of the game.

If it happens in december, that's not a too long time to wait.

You can do your class stories and stay leveled as it is. Have an XP boost up all the time (you'll keep getting them as you do the story - don't be afraid of using them all because you'll still have extras when you're done). You can also buy character perks that give you extra XP for class quests. All of these put together and you'll even be overleveled at times.

Maybe you will get one around Thanksgiving or Christmas, in years past they have done stuff like that but they have not said anything yet so just guessing.

They do them about 4 times a year now.. and as mentioned.. you literally just missed the last one.

 

Even without double XP (there is nothing higher then this since 4.0 released) you can in fact level up just doing the primary story arcs and disregarding the planetary missions. 4.0 completely revamped the experience curve and pacing in this MMO.

 

Just slap on an XP booster and go to town. You will be surprised how fast it is now days.

 

Double XP is actually almost absurdly fast and in fact.. many people complain about it and equip a white acute module to disable it when it is active. What people do like about it though is at level cap.. it also includes double Cxp.. which is what most players spend time on when the event is live.
