So, maybe stupid question, but.. where do you get the purple “mission discoveries” for any crafting path?

 

Are they just random drops? And the grade of the mission is determined by the level of enemy killed?

Or is there a solid place to buy/acquire them.

You can check the GTN. People used to sell them (I haven't checked in a while). Their drop rate is random and they most often come from slicing nodes in the wild and from running slicing missions.

You get them from slicing lockbox missions - and the rate of return is not worth farming them.

 

The GTN prices for the missions are ridiculously high. If anyone's paying 30k plus for a mission then they must be new, or just clueless about how crew missions work.

 

If you want purple mats get a couple of companions up to level 50 and you'll get a crit ical every 4 missions that gives you purple mats.
