For the resolution issue, delete the client_settings.ini file and let the game re-create it when you next launch the game. No idea about the crashing. If you had a default install, the file is probably located here: C:\Users\[your windows account name here]\AppData\Local\SWTOR\swtor\settings You will still need to play with the resolution after the fact, but that should be a one-time adjustment.
