Unwanted Alliance Alerts and Iokath Op Mission

I'm just going to keep this short.

Are we ever going to get the option to ditch the Alliance Alerts we don't want to do? Like telling the specialist that you have not interest in pursuing that lead or refusing the mission and it actually disappear?

I ask because I got three that I don't do anymore. The one that requires PVP, the one that requires you fight in the Arena, and the one that requires crafting materials and the Rakghoul Event. I don't care for or enjoy any of that stuff. I'd love to be able to tell them that I'm not interested and they disappear from the list. Or at least when 6.0 comes out, the time to do them has expired? I suppose that would work too.

Also, I used be able to abandon the Iokath Op line that they just thrust upon you like everyone wants to do it. Which I don't. I have no interest in Operations. Thus, it just sits there "untracked", but I still know it's there and I won't do it. So it'd be nice to be able to abandon it or at least let it fade away after reaching a certain point. Meh :(

+1.

I know with the Iokath Op they seem to have been trying to encourage people to try the Operation. It doesn't work guys. The Op can be in my log until the end of time and it will still never be done. I have untracked it but don't like that it takes up a mission slot. Let me abandon it already.

For the Alliance Alerts, it would be nice to be able to untrack/hide those.

+1 to both of these. I tried out 3 different Ops when I first ran out of story content, but found all 3 to be tediously boring and pointless, so no, I am not ever going to do the Iokath one. It is annoying to have it there. And there are a few alliance alerts I would like to abandon. Most I do just to get them out of the log, but it's time I do not enjoy, and every time I do them I start asking myself if it really is worth sticking with the game, or if I wouldn't be better of switching to another.

especially regarding the Iokath OP ... it was possible to abandon the Oricon-OP at the end of the story line... so I didn't understand why the same was not possible for the Iokath-OP...

and regarding the Alliance Alerts - an option to turn the info down/not pursue that lead would be grand... maybe put that Alert then under the "unavailable companions" - that way you'd maybe still have the possibility to make it active again or something

Personally I don't mind the Iokath op mission since I actually love raiding and *for me* it's not an issue. But I can completely understand how for many people it's unwelcome and just taking up space. So please let it be something that can be dropped (and reacquired at a terminal/npc somewhere on Iokath for those people who may change their mind later).

But the alliance alerts... Oh please let me turn them off! Some kind of option for "shelve this for later" and stop the damn thing from flashing on my UI all the time because that's annoying as hell. I appreciate it may take a little extra coding to add this but it really would be a nice QoL, especially if you also add a way to pick the mission up again or just temporarily tell it to go away for people who want to come back to it later. Going through KotFE/KotET on alts is painful enough without having to do all the alliance alerts too because the flashy icon is bugging you!

I sure hope so. I hate seeing that flashing triangle that shows I have an alliance alert. If I am the "Alliance Commander" then I should have more power in who I recruit. Why can't it show me the alert and I can decide if I want to meet the recruit. Give me the option to abandon it if I am not interested. Make it possible to obtain again if I initially reject it. Please bring back the option to recruit companions from other classes. I love running around with Blizz on my commando.

I was pissed when I saw that I couldn't abandon the Iokath operation. I did it on one toon when you only had to defeat Tyth. Not doing it again . Does Bioware think that people will sub to do the operation?

To be honest I would also like to get rid of the small flashy yellow in the menu bar somehow! I have gotten all companions on a few toons, but on the rest its simply bothering so would be nice to be able to have an empty window!

I sent a PM about the unwanted OPs quest to Keith on 1st Sept 2017 & he replied that it (as well as the other things I raised) were good points and he would pass it on to the Dev team. I suspect now that the Dev team is depleted, it's not high on their list :( I'm getting really annoyed with that OPs quest being forced on me. The quest chain is designed in such a way that you can't avoid it. The ability to abandon it would be great.

As for the alliance alerts I don't want +1 for an option to delete those too.

Adding my +1! I don't mind the ones we have, but I strenuously object to dark side Jaesa when my Jaesa is light side. I would rather have no Jaesa at all than the wrong one.

Yeah, if the AA is for DS Jaesa only, I'm just not going to do it and it's going to sit ignored in my companion console.

LS Jaesa annoys me because she thinks my SW is a secret Jedi (um, no) but that's the companion my Sith Warriors had, and that's the one they want back. I have no interest in getting the DS Jaesa instead.

I do have one Sith Warrior who has DS Jaesa, and even with her...I really don't miss DS Jaesa or want her back.

I'd like to be able to hide/decline alerts. There's several I don't intend to do but the blinking of the icon each time bugs me, and seeing the untouched alerts makes me a little OCD.

I think hiding vs. declining alerts is the better route here. My reason for that is my faith that if someone permanently declines an alert, they will change their mind or claim they made a mistake. Also, I don't rule out that people actually can / do change their mind.

My evidence for this is people regretting the original version of the kill option for Quinn many Alderannian Moons ago.

I'm all for choices 'mattering' but if someone claims a mistake, customer service will have extra work to do.

More broadly, I think we should be able to hide companions we do have (but know we won't use) and sort the list in an order we prefer.

That's true. Someone might just not want the alerts blinking at them now but might want to come back to them later. Letting people hide them or choose "not right now" would be easier.

For the Op, seems as though they could always institute a terminal so people could pick up the Iokath Op again if they change their mind.

I agree about wanting to toggle and sort companions. Especially the list of 'unavailable'/dead companions. Please let me hide that. It's annoying to scroll past a list of people I either killed off or only had as temporary companions for a chapter. You can collapse it but it's right there the next time you go through the list.

It must make sense to someone at BW that they have a limited number of mission you can have in your log, auto start some missions that not everyone will want to do, and then not make them abandonable....

The issue has been around since Ilum/Makeb and they just keep adding more and more missions automatically without increasing the max for the mission log...

We puny players just don't understand.

Charles has already said he has plans for LS Jaesa. People really need to calm down about not getting her.

Yes sure that's a good point, but I just desperately want something to make the light stop blinking.

Something such as being able to right-click an alert and "hide/deactivate" alert which nukes the constant blink, would be nice enough.

Plus another 1 for this. That blinking alert is making me considering queuing for ECT. It's worse than the galaxy map icon alert that blinks when you start a character now even though you can't do anything about it until you get your ship - at least you know at some point you can get rid of that annoyance. There is too much blink/can abandon madness and it's a bane for those of us with obsessive traits!

My suggestion:

A new recruitment mission shows up in the companions window. There is only a short info about it and the button which now starts the mission becomes a "Tell me more" button.

You click on it and a new window pops up, maybe inspired by the tutorial-window layout.

In this new window you get a picture from whoever found this possible recruit (e. g. Aygo or the Dr.) and the information text which is currently shown in the companion window.

At the bottom of the window you have three buttons:

1. Start recruitment now

2. Noted, will handle it later

3. Not interested, put to file 13

-->

1. starts the mission as the button does now

2. moves the mission to a new category at the bottom of the companion window, something like "possible companions" (the yellow blinking icon will be gone)

3. deletes the recruitment mission for good

I've been wanting the ability to abandon certain missions forced on us since the level cap was still 50. I REALLY disliked seeing that Ilum mission in my log with no way to be rid of it. So this would be a wonderful thing to be able to do.
