Zebbia
I have not seen a list of gear that is available, only bits and pieces, and I was wondering if it’s decent PVE equipment for a light armor character?
Aliinya
Depending on how well you mod it, then it will be good. Even so, it's really only good for low leveled and mid leveled characters, as you'll come across mod-able gear that has a better default armor rating or stat boosts. Owsley
The only worthwhile item on the vendor is the fleet pass with a 1 hour cooldown. Except for looks, the equipment is the same as you can get anywhere else. It also sells companion modifications to change their looks and other non-combat related social items. None of the special edition vendors sell anything to give you an edge in combat or leveling. It's mostly cosmetic crap. Anything related to combat or leveling is available to all players. These vendors are gold sinks - pure and simple. Edited February 9, 2012 by Owsley
VanorDM
as you'll come across mod-able gear that has a better default armor rating or stat boosts. No actually you won't, All orange gear has the same base stats, and only weapons have a inherent stat bonus. Even in that case the stat bonus is the same no matter where or how you got the weapon. The only difference is the armor Type heavy, medium or light. A character who can wear heavy armor won't do well in the armor you get there because it's all rated as light armor. But a Shadow/Assassin, Sage/Sorc will do just fine in it, if it's properly modified. It will provide them exactly the same stats as will a quest orange, provided it has the same mods in it. Eternalnight
http://swtor.gamingfeeds.com/2011/12/14/security-key-vendor-items-revealed/ Well if you want to have full set of orange gear as soon as possible there might be a very small advantage of being able to buy modifiable orange armor pieces such as gloves and boots at level 14, because without security key vendor you might have to wait to be a bit higher level before you could get a chance to get orange boots and gloves and so on. But this is only for light armor using classes.
