T7 Space Missions still too damn hard!

Recommended Posts

I loved the space missions before. I was able to do all the top missions with ease. I eagerly bought all the best modules for the newer T7 missions in anticipation of having fun like I had before.

Boy was I disappointed. I have all the best gear, yet my sheilds drop in 3 hits. I roll and dodge to get away and miss vital objectives. When I try to shoot the targets, boom- sheilds down again. I use all my modules to no avail. The cooldowns are too long for them to be of much use.

I did over 20 T7 missions and have yet to beat a single one of of them to date. I keep beating my head against the wall hoping vainly that something will change, that perhaps I will get better, but no. My sheilds just fall too fast, my armor evaporates in an instant then im dead.

I did manage to survive ONE mission out of all the ones I did but I was only able to accomplish about half the objectives so I failed anyway.

This is not fun. The curve between the last available missions and these is astronomical. I have all the best gear in every slot and was an ace at the previous missions, and then to now not be able to beat even one of the new missions? Something is wrong and I refuse to believe that it is simply because I am a "noob".

Please re-evaluate the difficulty of these missions and tone them down accordingly.

The modules should be used at the right time during each mission. For example, using the EW pod when entering the minefield (you know which one) and then blowing EMP when close enough to damage the frigate while also taking out the rest of the mines.

You should also be constanstantly toggling the power conversion module. Always in attack mode when firing cannons and in defense mode when not (unless shields are already full).

I find the difficulty just right with Grade 7 gear with some missions such as the escort one being particularly easy. Keep at it, the missions get easier when you get used to when certain 'events' occur.

This.

I find the space missions difficulty just right as well, and have no trouble running through them, occasionally, as in once every couple weeks, I'll die on one, and thats it, they are extremely easy once you know what to do. They are far from too hard, and just take practice.

I was inspired to give these another shot. One thing I learned that really helped: Even with your power conversion module set to shields, you can still destroy standard enemy fighters really easily - which cuts down on the amount of fire you take.

I was surprised that this was the case since in the regular missions it takes significantly more shots to down a standard enemy fighter with power to the shields.

Have you ever re-evaluated yourself and considered that maybe it's you?

I've literally gotten through some of these with full armor.

They aren't that hard unless you're undergeared for them, in which case it may take a few tries to get.

There's one that's impossible unless you have all of the offensive upgrades. And last I checked, it's one that counts for weeklies. Two of them.

Great job, developers.

Cybertechs can make those.

I know, because I can. I had max fleet commendations when the heroics launched. I am probably the only guy on my server who used his fleet and daily commendations for purchasing the schematics, making them, and purchasing what couldn't be made.

Not a single cartel coin spent.

I found many of the heroic space missions incredibly hard when they came out. I was using the new space modules as soon they were available.

There are some great youtube videos (including by someone called xLethalis from memory) that made all the difference for me and now it is very rare to for me to fail a mission.

Good luck!

Not to be snide, but it's still a choice between 'grind like hell' and 'pay cartel coins'. Getting schematics for them is even more grinding. And whether it's running space missions on a daily basis (impossible, my connection will not hold up for that long) or running whatever daily it is that gets you the non-fleet comms for that, it's still a grind.

Really major pain is that it's a worse grind than PVP, because in there, you can at least save up your comms for when you hit 50. But daily space missions before the HM versions? You need those commendations to pay for the lower level utility modules, which, makes a HUGE difference in the late level space missions. You don't need to spend PVP comms to still remain viable in lowbie pvp.

I'm sorry if I seem aggressive, it's just the way I see the situation.

didn't read it all but those missions take no skill what so ever... they are like Lost Island HM... total robot mode where you supposed to have max top tier ship parts and use them or shoot or not shooting in same moment.

my advie is go watch the vids on dulfy and mark on which seconds to do use what then practice and fail 10-15 times. take 1 mission per day.

I myself didn't bother after completing 1 mission.... truly no point :X

While you're absolutely correct in that it is a grind for the T7 gear if you don't want to buy them off the GTN or with CC, I've found that if you don't use comms for the lower level utility modules, you have a TON of them when you reach level 50. I've taken 3 toons to 50 so far, working on a 4th, and haven't used any of the "utility modules" until I got the grade 7 versions...you just don't need them to complete any of the non-heroic space missions.

after the 1st few times will become easier, but is not worth the time spent on them, credits, fleet coms or for reputation wise

I am feeling a bit ripped off from BW after buying all three packs from CM and getting horrible loot after trying over and over again because I happen to lag at the wrong time or I didn't quite lock on or missed a fighter. Just no room for error at all and the rewards are just pathetic.

The old non heroics at least took you three to four go's and after that you had them worked out and if you made a mistake then you can recover. The new space missions do not allow any room for error.

took me just over 4 hours after switching some of the new mods out and using some of the older ones to give you a little bit more mitigation.

To me it seems easier to run OP's, grind PVP gear and RE armoring for mats than run these terrible space missions.

At least in OP's if someone dies you can Battle rez or pop cooldowns.

I think they should make non heroic versions to get used to the mechanics rather than have us wipe over and over again because we didn't time it perfect.

Woke up this morning (10am CET) "Oh, I forgot to do the heroic space missions, I have 3h left to do 3*6 missions before the reputation reset" (3 toons). Let's open Winamp, let's open a good old Metal playlist and THE VOLUME GOES UPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP :) The last time I did one space mission was almost 2 weeks ago.

2h30 later, without rushing :

-1 try per mission, I passed them all easily

.-I missed a bonus objective 2 times (49/50 ships on Ardis, forgot to kill a Fregate on Hypori).

-I ended a mission below 50% 3-4 times (Thanium).

If you find the missions too hard with a full rank 7 ship, L2P.

I agree the level 7 missions are insanely difficult even with all lvl 7 mods, no room for error.

And the suggestion that you have to watch and memorize a video to have a chance to get thru one...well that makes my case about difficulty right there.

I fall on the side that the 'heroic' missions are too hard. I know there are videos out there that show how to get through them, but being able to replicate another player's skill is difficult (for me). I play the game to relax. Running a mission 10+ times is not relaxing.

I'm not a twitch player and the newer missions seem to require this skill. It would be nice if they offered two levels of difficulty (they can even remove the BH comms - don't care).

It will be interesting to see what they do when the level is increased...will there even be any space missions that will give XP?
