I think it would be handy to be able to choose your loot spec! You could gear for multiple play methods - and it would take an element of some random chance out. For instance - I have been getting a ton of Tank based gear on my DPS only Jedi Shadow - it would be great if we could just focus on our gearing with a little more accuracy!

You mean the vendor-worthy junk that drops from killed enemies? The Command Crates already drop discipline-specific gear for your current discipline, and they are coming round to the realisation that the various sorts of drops for 6.0 will have to do the same if they wish to avoid a major rebellion from the player base.

 

But for killed trash enemies (yet another Pub soldier or Imp guard, that stuff), nah, because none of that gear is worth the effort *even if it matches your spec*. Heroic mission rewards are tied to your discipline.
