SySteMic_TOR
Bump for the second question, particularly: how, when and where use augments?
Hammerreborn
When you crit create a belt (or any other green/blue/purple slot) they get an augument slot. You get augument items from slicing I belive (though if you're a crafter probably just the GTN). The augument gives you bonus stats, generally the secondary stats (shield, absorb, crit, surge, alarcity), though some auguments give the primary stats. Place them in the slot as per usual, and whalah, extra stats. Edited January 6, 2012 by Hammerreborn

Hammerreborn
the typically have the suffix [Exceptional] or something. At least for synthweaving. If you scroll over them you'll see an open or filled augument slot
