Of course, you could be like me and let all of your so-called "alts" run heroics until you bleed, use the common crystals and buy the blue/purple Rank 6 comp gifts from the vendor in the Odessen cantina and use them on one companion only, say on Nico and get him to 50 like I did on Wednesday, Oct 28.

I'll make my main do her grind for common crystals and repay her siblings with comp gifts in return.

Now to get all four alliance members to 20 influence each.

That's the harder challenge (Not!!!!) .;)

What really worries me with the no voices is what happens when say I had a female smuggler who romanced Corso, is the whole loving reunion going to be where my smuggler doesn't say a word? If that is that case with all the companions then that is going to be a MAJOR disappointment. You get none of that emotion or anything. I can live with the companions who weren't romance able being that you don't talk with them like old SWTOR (although it does really annoy me). But romances? I will be so guttered if they relegate them to KotOR style conversations.

I recon Bioware just needs to stick with what we were all so happy with in the base game. Fully voiced PCs and NPCs. Not go backwards.

Sorry I guess this was just a bit of a rant. It just really frustrates me.

My concern about this new system...with 50 levels of grinding through influence levels, it seems that the story is "driven" more or less because people will want to max out their reputation with a character. Now, obviously, this will not apply to everyone. But, for some, it seems like you are steered towards a somewhat pre-determined outcome in order to max your influence with certain characters.

Why I can't skip those quest altogether. Like for example Lt. Pierce quest. If I want to skip that comp and abandon quest, why can't Lana offer me another quest/comp.

Anyways already have like 20 companions, Don't need anymore. Max influence Nico will do just fine.

This is something i am wondering; I am sure there will be things I will not do in this Alliance thing.

There are companions I will not be getting. So, will this essentially stop me dead in Kotfe? if it does, ok, so be it. Not complaining. Just wondering what the ramifications will be.

I am not a completionist anymore in gaming. My time is more limited now, and my fervor for beating everything is long gone. I doubt I will do the H2 Star Forrtess quest for example, and just do the solo version. So, what effect will this have for me? Just curious.

It probably saved them a lot of voiceover work, but yes, it is weird not hearing our toons after so long of hearing them.

It feels... cheap...

Agreed, it was a real downer not hearing them after being so used to the immersion they bring by hearing them speak etc. Shame I hope they change this for future chapters/updates.

Companion characters have always been a big part of our personal stories, and with the upcoming release of the new Digital Expansion, Knights of the Fallen Empire, comes an even deeper focus on characters and storytelling.

I like the Idea of all companions now being able to have their favorite companion switch between all three roles

I'm going to add my voice to the ones who want old weapon options back for companions.

Please let Corso have Torchy back, please let Aric have his assault cannon, and please let Kaliyo have the over-powered hand-cannon I spent 50k credits on!

In one of the recent patches Corso regained the ability to use Torchy (and other pistols), however he lost the ability to use blaster rifles. Prior to 4.0 he could use either and I took advantage of this - on one smuggler I had him using Torchy and on another I had him using a rifle from the casino event.

This might seem off-topic, and I hope it's the correct forum for it, but I've read in the recent patch notes that the "Companion Finder Terminal" has been fixed.

...What Companion Finder Terminal? I thought we were supposed to be getting periodic alerts as to the locations of new companions. Also, do we have to completely finish all current companion recruitment quests before getting new ones? Because I haven't even started on Qyzen.

You can't get more alerts from the same quest-giver before you complete the current ones. E.g. Qyzen is given by the military, and you don't have an option to start recruiting the next character before you're done with the current one. Atm most of the times 'done'='complete the mission& recruit'.

Hi,

Let me introduce myself I'm Smoke'um.

I don't know if you have hurd of or seen me in game. Nice to meet you.

Well to tell the truth I'm a little disappointed. Yeah its cool we have new companions.

but to strip all that most of us had built and worked hard to eather buy, sell, trade, its a hard blow.

Myself... I went threw hell trying to get it right (it took me 3-4 Laptops).

I will be looking forward to the search of lost companions. Something new!

So Hope to see Ya's out there in the Galaxy. Lets team up and fight the battle together.

P.S. Sith Rules.... :D

Had flashbacks to DA1 for the "classic" conversations... Flashbacks to how much I hated never being able to hear my character say anything. Also my LS Sorc would like to tell Pierce off without trying to earn his favor, so when will he get that option? Y'know, if you're gonna use the "classic" style to have more diverse conversations.

This thread is kind of ironic with the new 4.02 that has essentially nerfed all companions 75% of their former ability regardless of rep level. It also pops the beautiful balloon that is the Alliance because what is the use of trying to acquire a bunch of mediocre all the same companions now.

Well, first of all I would like to know where to find my old companions.

Secondly I absolutely hate it that there choice off weapon has changed. Scorpio now uses a rifle as example???

You think our companions are important to us. Hell they are and also in the way they used to be.

To be frank and open about it, I hate what you did and are still doing.

The new affection system sucks so hard because you, in all your "wisdom" decided to take away all previous build affection to start with.

Then using a companion entering a H2+ has never been so hard as now. IN the old system you could relay on the fact they would try to keep you alive. Now there more worried about them-self. A companion should act as a substitute player so to speak. If I decide I want to play solo I want my companion to act just like that. They used to.

Now they don't.

So I just got through to chapter 9 and into the new alliance system...

The "classic" conversation style sucks.

After 65 levels of fully voiced conversations this seems like a completely different game. I'm sad that you felt this poor effort was necessary.

:(

Couldn't agree more. I hate this "classic conversation" stuff. I enjoyed hearing my character speak, and never felt truly limited by only 3 choices. I just hope "classic conversations" aren't the way of the future...

On a positive note, I'm really enjoying the changes to companions. Not having to worry about getting, and keeping, them all geared for current content is nice.
