aldin_kiris
Recently, I've been toying with the idea of rolling an Assault Specialist trooper, but since both advanced classes share that tree, I've hit a bit of a wall here. My question is, are there any advantages to one over the other for this spec? Or is the difference pretty much cosmetic (One uses an assault cannon, the other a rifle)? COMMANDO ADVANTAGES 30M range Easier rotation Better utility in off-heals, cleanse and combat res DISADVANTAGES Most moves are either cast or channel abilities slightly less DPS forced to take alacrity in the tree -_- VANGUARD ADVANTAGES Highly mobile Slightly more DPS No alacrity in the tree to worry about DISADVANTAGES 10m range Rotation is more prone to RNG when doing it right You're gonna do a lot of face-tanking Edited September 13, 2014 by TACeMossie
aldin_kiris
Thanks for the information! That helps tremendously actually. Here's another question: Which is better for PVP (Still in the Assault Specialist Spec mind you)? Would I be correct in assuming Vanguard is better off there due to them not having to channel casts as much as Commandos? Exactly - In an assault vs assault situation, Vanguards are far superior to Commandos, because they aren't vulnerable to interrupts, dont have to stand still to attack, and have a far more reliable slow available to them.
