SIS agents and their activities

I've been kicking around some ideas .. And in the process was currious about the SIS. As I understand it they are quite active (though as always hidden) through out much of lore in this game. Correct me if I'm wrong, but are they not mentioned or active on the following planets / areas particularly before KotFE / ET ?

1. Belsavis (trying to confirm)

2. Coruscant

3. Nar Shaddaa

4. Taris

5. Tatooine : agent Fouler

6. Voss ... maybe ?

Most well known contacts or people of the SIS and or well known contacts oustide of the SIS (other than well noted parents of Theron )

1. Most noted is Theron Shan

2. Galen

3. Lana

4. Jakarro

5. SIS mole in Sith Intelligence Rane Kovach

6. Therons former SIS colleague Jonas Balkar

The point of this is that the SIS has more extensive roots in this saga than I realized.

If anyone knows of more I would be happy to learn more about their involvement .

Thanks in advance

I can't remember all the areas as some exploration quests are handed by SIS agents, but yes they've been a part of the vanilla game.

That's kind of what I thought as well. In fact ... to put it another way.. The SIS has been mentioned from time to time even by Kira.

QUOTE: "Have to hand it to the SIS. Nobody does "nondescript" quite like them."

There seems to also be an indication that the SIS often resorted to empolying those who had special skill set(s) necessary for the task at hand. Some of those back grounds included (but were not limited to), smugglers, special forces, Force sensitive personel and up to and inculding a secret team of Jedi ( see the Ziost incident). Contacts from each of our characters (particularly light side) have came in contact with and are aware of the Agency.

It should also be noted that there is also a DS counter part to this agency. I'm doing some more research into this for the specific name and to what extent it existed within the Empire.

I also found this provided by another source. It's pretty interesting really.

Kind of makes you wonder if the SIS were fleshed out a little more what kind of active member you could create.

Theron in game is a pretty good character. But what if there were more. What if there was a specific law enforcement network of strategicly trained individuals to enforce specific goals or to protect specific targets or people as needed ??

It would somewhat resemble the Imperial Agent story, in concept (gathering intelligence, being an agent provocateur, subverting neutrals (Hutts, say), and so on) at least, although in details it would probably be radically different. After all, SIS occupies the same niche in the Republic that Imperial Intelligence does in the Empire. (Think CIA or MI6...)

Steve..

This is kind of what I was thinking. A somewhat more specialized agent... Possibly former Havoc Squad type ... maybe ? Being force sensitive could help ... but still not necessary. Not a Jedi Knight.. though Jedi as friends and contact would definately be a plus.

I did notice that who ever did that article suggested that the Imperials division of that group was more extensive and better funded (at least at the beginning).

It kind of makes you wonder what that group might be like if it were explored and expanded just a tad !

I laso thought it was interesting how that Theron initially looked to a group of Jedi for the Ziost incodent.

Good point !

Edit: add additional information to include specialists in weaponry , martial arts and other skill sets. That's why SOME of their operatives might BEGIN with a highly skilled aptitude in a group like (but not limited to ) Havoc Squad personel or Emperial counter parts for DS. But we are discussing SIS for now.

Activity planets;

Quesh and Hoth (Ardun Kothe)

Dormund Kaas (Izak and couple of girls from Project 32)

Most of the "projects" SIS is linked in the game, like the Shadow Arsenal and Project 32, are far from being ethical. Luckily most of SIS's super-weapons end up being stolen by the Empire. Security is not one of these guys strong points.

Can't remember exactly where it starts but in the Trooper class story:

SIS Senior Agent Zane has his hand in an operation involving the Deadeyes, Aric Jorgan's friends and/or former squad before he ended up on Ord Mantell.

I had forgotten that ! Good heads up !

The SIS has it's lore well rooted in this game !

One more question:

This SIS, like many such organizations, no doubt have their own "special agents" or sometimes "branch agencies". Just how much of a stretch is it to conclude that other groups are available with specific skill sets to handle more difficult assignments?

I would like to use Therons secret assembly of a group of Jedi to handle the situation on Ziost as a point of reference.

Sorry, late return here...

I think the earliest involvement of the SIS in any part of the stories is the heirloom/communicator mission into Talloran Village on Ord Mantell, available for Troopers and Smugglers.

I think you are right.

AND ... later on we have the SIS trying to unravel the mystery of the "Shroud" .. That one takes us all over the galaxy. It was interesting too !

  • 1 month later...

I've recently created a new toon: a Smuggler. This time I watched to see just how much the SIS is involved in the SWTOR lore. It's scattered in every single planet ... in some cases for multiple reasons or missions. Some of them are at the central theme of the journey to that planet.

I'm currently on Tatooine (double XP month) with the final phase: The Thing That Czerka Found.

IMO... one thing that would definitely add to the SWTOR lore and provide additional content that should be a lot of fun would be to add a specialized department of the SIS .. thus creating a new class. IMO.. Post Iokath would be ideal and fit right in to the new release. Timing couldn't be better.
