Hello Warzone Aficionados!

 

We are starting our pre-production (ideation stage, if you are into buzzwords) for the next Warzone and we want to get your ideas for a new Warzone!

 

We have a few ideas (even got a few prototypes on the backburner) on what we would like to do and what we *think* you would like but we want to hear your ideas before we move forward with a design!

 

Remember when you post, the more information the better. Layout pictures and descriptions always help, some of us are visual learners =P Think about and post your thoughts on how will the scoring work? What is the goal for each player? Will some players have different goals? How can players make a come-from-behind victory? Is this fun? The more questions you ask yourself about a design that you can answer and feel good about, the better the design.

 

Please make sure you understand that this is not a vote. Even if there is a consensus on a specific idea that everyone wants that is no guarantee that we will develop it. Also there is no guarantee that we will develop an idea that is suggested. We want to gather ideas on what you want from the next warzone so we can make something ya'll want!

 

Also please note that this Warzone will not be released Live during the current Road Map.

I'd make GOOD AND SURE the classes are BALANCED before wasting time on a new Wz that only some of the ppl who pvp will enjoy.

Would love a slayer like game variant where the team that gets to x amount of kills wins and a war zone map that involves some city scape or a town where the players can go on top of roofs and inside the buildings. I think it would add some flavor to pvp.

Laboratory Escort

 

A warzone that takes place in a laboratory where you are trying to steal/defend a valuable (insert technology here.) A droid is carrying the technology and being escorted by one team. However, it is a little slow and due to the maze like nature of the laboratory the other team can plan strategic ambush points or use environmental objects, like gas vents, cooling pipe, vats of acid, etc to their advantage. However whenever the escort gets to a certain set point on the map it gets healed for **% of its health, meaning they enemies can't just wail away hoping to chip at it's health. They really gotta take out the escort instead of focusing the droid, or give it a buff so it takes less damage for everyone in the escort being nearby. Healers can't heal and tanks cant guard the escort. If you fend off an attack and it only has a little health left you gotta make it to the next checkpoint before he regains any health.

Really make the layout so that it is suspenseful to the escort, like walking through closed doors, and they can't see where the enemies respawn on the map, so they don't know where the next attack will be. And give many respawn points and possibilities for where the attackers can be. Make it new every time.

After reading the first third of pages of posts, if I were a dev i wouldn't pay attention to this thread at all. There are virtually no actual suggestions. It's actually super depressing that in a thread where they wanted map ideas, and concepts we got primarily people whining. Super depressing.

 

If Alex, or any of the pvp team, still monitors this ideas for game concepts:

 

Like other pvpers I LOVED Voidstar. It's one of the only maps I still get excited about when it pops. There was a suggestion somewhere in here about invading the jedi/sith temple. Now that we have Yavin, I'd love a jungle to temple map. You'd first start out attacking/ defending the outer temple defensive bunker, and then once that's fallen you get to fight inside the temple and need plant/recover an ancient artifact that would protect against the emperor as he eats everything in his path.

 

Another idea is similar to voidstar: I'd like to be in a fight similar to where we are invading/defending an abandoned Czerka mining asteroid. Again having some sort of technology hidden away that will help in the fight against the emperor for that faction.

 

We need another huttball map as well...one that isn't vertical. The problem with quesh ball is that the vertical nature of it just doesn't lend itself to fun game play where the horizontal lay out of the regular huttball is fantastic.

 

For an arena map I'd love to have the rakgoul tunnels as an arena.

There was a suggestion somewhere in here about invading the jedi/sith temple

 

We should get an invasion against the Temples. I think that deserves huge scenarios, with some stairs and at least 2 floors. Maybe bombing small doors like in Voidstar, but to collect "orbs" like in Hypergate.

Someone may already have this idea, but here it is anyways. (If i'm to late, oh well :p)

 

This is a modified version of Voidstar, where the attackers are trying to plant the bomb, and vise versa. The attackers have a choice of two nodes they can try to cap. One on level 1 and one on level 2, all they have to do if cap ONE and hold it for X amount of time. The defenders goal is either A) Keep the Bomb/node from being capped until the time runs out, or B) disarm the bomb/recap the node and win (even if there is time on the clock). The second floor with have more open space much like Mid in Alderaan, great for ranged (Snipers, Sorc's ex) where as the first floor has very low LoS (line of sight) making it a great place for melee and for very scary gameplay, as an enemy could be right around the corner. So be sure you are on your guard at all times when on this Floor. The four ramps that go to the second floor have some trap (like in Huttball, but not Huttball =P) to keep things hard at all times. (Who likes easy maps? Oh, not talking to you Pubs, you like everything easy... For the Empire >:] )

Keep in mind these are fresh ideas and I don't have an idea how long the Warzones will be or how large some of the caps are for objectives.

 

All 8v8s

 

1. Kingpin of tatooine: in this warzone you have 4 groups 2 imps 2 pubs. Each group has 4 people. Each group spawns in the corner of the map. Now the objective is simple. 5 nods. Each team spawns on a nod. This map is a square... Lol so the 5th nod is in the middle (no one spawns there). Each nod gives points for each second like civil war. How ever each nod has bombs. One play can click the bombs to destroy whoever is in middle however the bombs are not yet usable. The center nod needs to be capped. Once the nod is capped the bombs that are on the base are then useable. rhe bombs are also on CD for you can spam bombs. Bombs insta kill who ever is in mid. When a bomb is launched a warning will appear on he screen. In order to cap a nod you need at least 3 people to stand on the nod. This makes other nods vulnerable as well as capping very hard. This also makes it harder for teamwork (I know I know) for who stays and who goes. Respawns are instant and you respawn at a capped nod (can't respawn in mid). Once you get to the end of the game the highest team wins (DUH) if it's a tie (just like arenas) green goo comes from the sky forcing everyone in mid. The last team standing wins.

 

2. Dark temple: in this warzone you have 2 nods. On each side of the nod is a datacron. Like in hyper gate you need to collect dark or light spirts to fill your datacron. One team is trying to build lightside power the other dark side (kinda seen that coming) once enough power is collected one player can gain the power of all the spirts and increase thier power in the warzone till it resets. After it resets the player dies and the spirts released. To objective is not to gain spirts but to team death match the other team. This map would be similar to the dark temple main room in the game. In this warzone you fill the field with your enemies blood. Simple.

 

3. Mandalorian hunt: this warzone setting will take the blood hunt style. Now like VOIDSTAR your tying to break into the mandalorian fortress. In this warzone you start with one door to break thu. However you don't "plant" a bomb. The door is an NPC with life. Lower the doors health and it breaks open. After you get thu the first door 2 more doors take its place in the next room (hail hydra). Each door having once again hp. There will be boosts around the map to give you an extra edge over the doors to break them faster. Once you break thu the next 2 doors you then have an Npc. Mandalore. He is powerful. Take him down and you win. For imps the boss would be general garza in a walker.

 

4. Night life: this takes place at nar shaddaa. The objective is to get coins from the slot machines. While trying to kill your fellow players for thier coins. Lot machines have CDs and when one is ready to be pulled it glows gold. During the match a mutt will slime in and ATTACK players to steal coins. You can't kill the HUTT you can only run. When you target a player its shows how many coins he has. The team with the most coins wins.

 

5. Corellia train station: im this warzone you will have 1 datapad. This is taking the idea of a huttball style game but the catch is... There is only one goal. The style of this map makes knock backs and pushs even more viable then the bridges on VOIDSTAR. This maps layout would like the monorails on the corellia planet just not as big. Some rails will be broken to where you have to jump on order to get the datapad to the top of the map. Each player will spawn on the bottom of the map and will have to battle over the datapad. Once you get the datapad the first team to make it to the top first wins (with the datapad)

 

6. Deathwish: in this 8v8 warzone everytime you start a match ONE player on each side is selected as a "bounty". Now the objective is simple. Kill the opposite teams bounty while protecting yours from getting killed. This match goes up to 3 rounds if the first 2 are a tie. Like arenas.

 

All 4v4s

 

1. Counter squad: this is a objective arena. There is top super secret data pad on each side of the arena. Pretty much CtF. Who ever gets the data pad from the opposite team most times wins. However (not again with however this dude must love the word cause it makes him look smart) each datatcron expires under a timelimit.

 

2. HUTTRUNNER: another objective arena. This is a race. Baron deathmark decided its time for HUTTRUNNER. Now HUTTS don't have feet but that's ok in this warzone you have to carry (yes I said it) carry a HUTT in a huge circle. Now you run about 100% movement speed. Class abilities don't work. As you ran there are boosts around the map. No to pick up a HUTT and run is like having a speeder. You can get knocked off and have to fight so you can get back on. When you die you respawn back at the end of the map. Once you get to the finish line of you don't have enough points to win another HUTT hops on your back.

 

3. Rakgoul showdown: in this pve/pvp styled 4v4 you can do 2 things. Kill your teammates or save them from the rakgouls coming to slaughter everyone and everything in thier path. Btw the team with the highest kill count on rakgouls wins.

 

4. Lights and shadows: this is a pvp only arena. Here the entire map is dark. The only lights you see are nods that you need to cap and hold to win. Pretty much everyone is stealth till they go to a nod area. If the light hits you (even in stealth you FOTM people) you are visible. While the arena is goin little bombs of light fall in randoms places and expose any player in the radius. This warzone will have 3 nods total in an arena sized map. When you cap a nod a little light (just like in the flashpoints) give you a little light on your head.

 

5. Rapture: in this warzone there are 6 nods each nod grants a charge and one main nod. At a lvl 3 charge you gain power shield. The main focus of this warzone is around the nod set in the middle of the map. Once you have lvl 3 power shield you can use it to gain entrance to the main nod which is a huge energy barrier. Once inside you can begin setting off the mass shadow generator to destroy everyone but you on the map. Once the generator is turned on and everyone dies lighting bolts come from the sky and hit random spots on the map doing high damage to anyone hit when they respawn. After that the objective changes. Now you must cap the 6nods that gave you power to reset the main nod. After each nod is capped it resets back to how the objective was orginally. For each main nod successfully discharged you can points just like in hyper gate.

 

All 2v2 now here is it gets weird (if you know me i like getting weird) I wanna try to cross pvp with PVE for some of the objectives.

 

1. Stand as one: in this warzone you have 4 main nods and 2 main base nods (main base nods can not be capped its your spawn pointand base it can only be assulted by players and npc's) Now each nod grants 5 units like the NPCs ingame weak, normal, silver and gold (no boss. But why? cause I said so) when you cap a nod 5 units spawn and go for an enemies nod. They charge like blind bats to kill each other or players. The main objective is to battle from each nod while players can gain points to upgrade units. The way to get points is sneaking on each nod or slaughtering your way there to grab an enemies schematic to bring back to your main base. One you get it you can then spawn higher Lvl units which you will need to storm the main base. After you have higher Lvl units you can then storm the base of the enemy team. Here is where it takes 2 to stand as one. You can A) have 2 defend B) one defend or C) just don't care and assult the other enemies base. The attacker that gets inside the opposite teams base wins.

 

2. Deep sea Manaan: now this warzone if you hate the FP with Manaan where the ship thing your in is shaking this is not for you... And warning: can cause headache as well as other dizzy problems. In this arena of 2v2 (not really an arena) you and the other team are racing to get to the last escape pod. While fighting each other rad soon as the Warzones fights (cuZ I know you all too well) you can get to the pods without help from your friend. One person has a grapple hook to launch to each point on the map. Then the other can then grapple to you (grapples will be like the HUTTball icon however the icon would be replaced with an objective icon so you not adding more crap to your hotbar) while you 2 are working as a team you come across those other people racing. When one person dies they have a set time to come back right where they died. Each team fights on ledges (keep in mind they are not really ledges it's just this warzone will be a super duper steep floor. See now there is no limit to how far the grapple can go for the second player the one who has to grapple his friend. So yes you can have one person fight while the other works his why up. Right before the pod there will be a choke point. That is where you will normally battle if both teams make it to the top. Once at the top you swim off into the sunset and watch the other team sink to oblivion.

 

Other peeps ideas:

 

 

Sarlacc: Takes place in a Tatooine desert chasm stadium where the center is a small sarlacc pit. Over the course of the game, the pit continually expands as more sand falls into the sarlacc's mouth. Players cannot respawn or be resurrected, whether it be from dying from another player or falling into the sarlacc pit. The team with the last person standing (or in the process of sliding down into the pit lol) wins. 4v4 or 8v8 format.

 

Smuggle: Each team starts with a hovering carbonite prisoner. The objective is to push the carbonite prisoner to the team's ship on the other side of the map. The carbonite prisoner moves on a specific track and only moves when at least one player is within a certain distance of it. More players cause it to move faster. The pathing of the carbonite prisoners line up with each other at several places, causing chaotic battle areas. The team to push their carbonite prisoner to their ship first wins. I'd say 8v8.

 

Infiltrator: In infiltrator, each team has access to a disguise cabinet in their spawn. The disguise cabinet allows the player to appear as a member of the opposite team. When disguised, a player can take damage (although their health bar will appear to not take damage) and die, but any offensive action will break the disguise and return the player to normal appearance.

 

On each end of the map, there is a three sets of consoles. Players (disguised or not) can channel a console to power up the station. When the station is fully powered, that team wins.

 

(The idea here is to sneak and act as a member of the team and get behind enemy lines to channel the station. Disguising is optional so only a few people should act as "infiltrators" while the rest of the team attempts to keep the other team's attention).

I was thinking of something like 8v8 on an abandoned Asteroid. Story behind this would be like, you got from insider information that a very precious target (sith lord, jedi master) would be at that location and you need to take him out.

Both teams start on their flagship (kinda like alderaan). They hop on a transporter which leads the to this abandoned asteroid. There you have to find and defeat the enemy mvp. Respawns are allowed.

I am not those big minds who can figure out a whole new wz map with every objectives and details but I do can think of a lots of minor tweaks which will make WZ a better place:

1. Cross-faction arena/wz

2. More variety of boost e.g. freeze in place but immune to damage for a few seconds; become immnue to interrupts for seconds

3.medals earned in-game can be trade for some useful buffs/items used in a match until it ends

4.race-specific buffs in wz

5.health-based objectives (contrary to click/channel based objectives) like smashing a door, destroying a pylon)

6. Spectator mode to watch how pros figh in wz
