The promo pet for Jedi Fallen Order, got it on other existing characters but the new character I made today did NOT receive one in the mail with all the other new-character mail I had.

Tested this and just created a brand new assassin and I received the RE-1 Scout Droid so not sure why you didn't receive it. I know that I receive a lot of mail in my character creation and I have to receive everything in multiple attempts because there is more than 80 items to receive.

 

It's possible you either didn't receive it in the first pull and have to clear space first and then receive attachments again or you accidentally deleted it. Try logging out and then back in or create the character again.

I doubt it would have been deleted, on new characters I always use the "receive all checked messages attachments" to bulk pull everything out of the mail. I always make sure to click it twice just in case, then I bulk delete all selected mail.

 

I didn't have that much stuff mailed to me, it was 32 separate mails but I play infrequently and missed a ton of stuff I'm sure.

Ok checked my mail a couple days later, just received it. Anyone else who's having this problem might just want to wait a day or two and see if it shows up late.
