A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away....

STAR WARS

The Old Republic

Again...

War. The Eternal Empire has been beaten and a new Alliance formed in the wake of its destruction. Now, true to form, the Sith Empire has once again launched a campaign to annihilate the Republic and the Jedi.

Still fragmented from what may end up being a generation long war of fighting battle after battle and facing conflict after conflict, the once mighty Republic musters its ill-assorted forces...again...

At Carrick Station, the Valor-class cruiser Peremptory is making preparations to get underway in support of the emergent Third Galactic War effort.

The Backrocket Bastards guild is one that has existed since the rumored release of Star Wars: The Old Republic. We are back to focus on epic storytelling by creating in-game missions and developing characters that have an impact on one another and the story arc as a whole. When in character, we really focus on compelling interactions and cataloging our RP as its very own saga with its very own cast. That cast, however, is comprised of actual human beings on the other side of the computer screen and we make a point to remember this. We are interested in personal relationships with one another as much as with our characters, this really goes a long way with teamwork for writing and telling stories. It also goes a long way with understanding that people have obligations and video games/roleplaying shouldn’t be one of them. It should be fun and entertaining. This being the case, we’re aiming for one dedicated evening for RP each week where we move our stories a long a bit here and there. We’re very much a casual group of folks and will stay that way as we have families, friends, work, hobbies, etc... outside of SWTOR that consume a lot more of our time than SWTOR does (just being transparent).

So...if you’re interested in being a part of a guild that is truly focused on immersion and crafting stories that fit into the Legends, SWTOR universe...reach out to us. A fair warning as I just stated, we follow Legends NOT Canon Star Wars and do not mix the two. We believe lore is the floor, not the ceiling...but still, don’t see people walking on ceilings too often. I mention this as a warning because some have not liked our adherence to lore and creating stories that compliment the events happening in the game as opposed to overshadowing or ignoring them altogether—if you’re looking to walk on ceilings (aka be a special snowflake or Mary Sue) we’re not the guild for you. As for the in-game story and events, we accept that the Light Side Jedi Knight is the “Outlander” and follow the story progression accordingly. No one in the guild may portray this character.

Lastly, our RP is Republic centric and has a military theme to it. This means we’re always looking for troopers that are interested in a realistic STAR WARS military setting. However, that’s not to say there’s no place for other character types, but we are—and always have been—a little maxed out on Jedi. So if you’re looking for Jedi RP, we’re probably not the guild for you as it’s not our MO. All storytelling content/roleplay in the guild is PG-13, as is the case with all Star Wars content. We’re not trying to make Star Wars something it’s not.

That’s really all I have to say for now.

Hit up Mun’ro, Grizz, Aloysius, or Jaime in-game or reply here if interested.

Happy gaming and may the Force be with you.

LOG 001-001

The Peremptory was teeming with crew members working diligently to set space detail. Hangar bays were consumed by starfighters and bombers performing preflight checks. In the midst of it all...shuttles were arriving and departing with ship’s crew, pilots by the dozens, hundreds upon hundreds of troopers, and...a Jedi. A lost Jedi...

When the young Knight of the Republic landed aboard the ship either he missed his escort or his escort missed him. No doubt due to the Navy being in disrepair—for obvious reasons—but what’s done is done. No sense dwelling on what cannot be undone.

As lost as he was, he was on the right ship. He simply had no idea where to go now that he’d arrived. With all that was happening it must not have seemed prudent to disturb those tirelessly working to make ready the Valor-class cruiser. So, instead, the Jedi wandered the guts of the Peremptory—doing his best to discern the information on his crusty, rancor-digested datapad—until he happened upon a deck occupied by soldiers.

There, exhausted, he conceded to ask for help. The target of his solicitation was a lone commando standing in the corner near the entrance to what might’ve been a storage bay at some point. Now, the bay stored some of the Republic Army’s remains. “Stims”, he confided as his name, was one such remnant. The two conversed briefly towards the end of getting “Commander” Aloysius—or Al...typical—where he needed to be. And where he needed to be, Stims pointed out—literally—was up. Up to the bridge, and so that is where Stims escorted him, but not before suggesting Aloysius look less enervated and washed up. The armor clad commando had an air about him that demonstrated his commitment to the Republic and to the natural order of things. The free advice was well received by Aloysius and the duo set off to the turbolift where they parted ways once they’d made it to the bridge...
