Things you might not know about GSF

Here's a couple of GSF things you might not know.

- Quick charge shields affect not only your shields regeneration but also increase your engines regeneration while you're using them.

- Weapons, Engines and Shields all have delays related to them. Meaning once you use them for a few seconds afterwards they are diminished.

Weapons regenerate slower for 1.5 seconds after you finish firing (and during)

Engines regenerate slower for 3 seconds after you finish boosting (and during)

Shields don't regenerate for 6 seconds after you take shield damage.

There are upgrades/components that affect these numbers and how much you regenerate in this diminished capacity.

- When in Railgun mode you can zoom out with your Scroll wheel which helps aim easier.

- Ion Cannon on the Starguard/Rycer won't trigger Feedback Shield.

- Engine power ups (Purple) in Death match give +15% Evasion for their duration.

- Weapon power ups (Yellow) in Death match refill all your ammo.

- Armor piercing weapons ignore your targets Damage Reduction stat.

- Defense turrets on Satellites in Domination have 70% Damage Reduction.

- Railgun Sentry Drone ignores Evasion.

- If you have the maximum amount of mines out and you place another it detonates the first one you layed down of that mine dealing damage to any enemies in it's range.

- Mines and Drones take 3 seconds to arm after you fire them.

- The explosion radius on mines is larger then the trigger radius on mines.

- Just because your shot did no damage doesn't mean you were aiming incorrectly, after you aim correctly there is a combat roll to see if you hit, which is subject to your enemies Evasion.

- You Pitch (turning top or bottom of your ship) 66% faster then you Yaw. (turning left or right of your ship)

- You can change your crew members in queue.

- You can only choose a copilot from the 4 crew members you've selected.

- Cartel ships don't have any advantages over regular ships, except that they gain 10% more requisition. (Regular ships get this bonus once mastered) Which means over the course of owning a Cartel ship you save only about 7000 requisition.

- Each Secondary weapon has it's own cooldown, so you can use one and then swap to the other and use it immediately.

If you're new to the game you might find this stuff helpful. If anyone else out there thinks of other stuff post in here!

- Engine power ups (Purple) in Death match give +25% Evasion for their duration.

How do you know? DOes it say in the tooltip for the buff?

In any case, this stuff just goes to show how lacking the tutorial level is. It tells you about 15% of the stuff you need to know in order to get good at GSF.

It says it in the patch notes from when the Power ups came out.

Here are the patch notes:

Engine Overcharge – Doubles engine power regen rate, increases ship speed by 30%, increases ship defense by 15%, refills engine power to full on pickup.

Weapon Overcharge – Doubles blaster power regen rate, refills blaster power to full on pickup.

Shield Overcharge– Doubles shield power regen rate, eliminates shield recently consumed regen delay, refills shields to full on pickup.

Damage Overcharge– Doubles damage from all primary and secondary non–drone weapons.

The ship defense it refers to is Evasion.
