Hi I have seen all the class changes on 1st day of PTS and alot more classes have serious movement speed or sprint like ability boosts. The 90second electronet cooldown is to long and would do alot better for mercs/commandos as a 30-45-60 second cooldown.

What are your thoughts?

It needs to be a low CD ability. It's way too important to keep it on such a ridiculously long CD like 1:30.

Low CD why?? Mercs already have many tools to keep distance from melees and stealth.

4sec stun

8sec mezz

arsenal can spec 4sec root.

knockback + slow

unload + slow

now they have electronet...

The problem is that NONE of those snares will allow you to put distance between you and the melee if the melee snares you. The stun/mezz/knockback work, but after subtracting the one instance when used where the melee can use Unleash, you will only get one of those up before his Resolve bar is full. So you get one of those off, which is equal to the number of times he can incapacitate you. The snare/stun calculus does not favor the Merc vs. an attacking melee. Rather it is a neutral issue that does not alter the fact that the melee can out dps the Merc in a 1v1 scenario.

yea a 30sec CD would be good. and since we still miss out on a 45% armor pen on railshot compared to PT, i still think powershot should be castable while moving, or atleast make power shot a 75% reset chance, i think the alacrity buff will help, we should be able to get those 90 crit 70 alac enhancments or somthing to make powershot less of a pain, +

I REALLY want missle solvo or whatever to shoot regular missle blasts becuase the reduced dmg hits less than rapid shots

Even xerain wants it lowered.

I am scared:eek:

Well merc needs to be a better class IMO. They're taking some steps in the right direction but not doing that well with CD's and what appears to be damage on the new stuff. Yes the Missile Salvo thing needs to do more damage.

As I stated elsewhere, Missile Salvo is USELESS. *Was*. Now they have buffed it slightly. So now it will do similar damage to Rapid Shots - and will still trigger CGC slower than Rapid Shots 70% of the time. While using more heat. Doh. Still next to useless.

Not really, if specced pyro, MB+IM (+Fusion) = dot parade, also with Mortal Salvo, Missile Blast don't have anymore 6 cooldown (only the proc), so while you run around, cast it once at the beginning, you have already a guaranteed proc unlike rapid shots.

I think 45 seconds is fair.

High enough to not be spammed

Low enough to allow for consistent utility.

Agreed this CD should be reworked... it has to be on lower CD . If 45 seconds is too short for devs... so make it on 60 secs CD and give mercs some talents (like powertech has on grapple ) , which lowers it's CD.

With the newest changes, Rapid Shots is a de facto auto CGC proc. Missile Blast was and still is next to useless. Also the whole DoT thing is just a bad idea. No one wants a DoT dps anymore. For a simple reason. DoTs interfere with the key method that teams use to capture nodes - mezz/cc. Even in a 1v1 duel, the DoT class is hosed because he can't use mezz/cc effectively.

Anyway, w.r.t. Electronet, once melee figure out how to counter it, it will be useless. Right now so many melee on PTS don't even know when they have it on them. So they run around and kill themselves. Once they figure it out, it will just be a minor speed bump on the way to killing the Merc.
