i hate how gamespot said something about there being no day night cycle. I mean if they did put one in they'd have to change it for every planet or people would say something about one planet not being as big as another etc.

I'd wager if they jut made it the same cycle on all planets (or just a 24 hour cycle and tied it to the server time) not very many would notice.

Heck, go with a binary option and just flip the bits randomly between planets.

OT: interesting to see them all listed like that.

Here are my thoughts:

1. Almost all of those sources get large amounts of advertising revenue from EA. That doesn't always influence the reviewer directly, but it does influence the company when they assign the review.

2. Especially for print publications, the reviews were done 6 weeks ago. I doubt any reviewer made it all the way to 50. The leveling experience is TOR's strength. The reviews should be good for the part of the game they played.

3. A large number of reviewers are gaming snobs. They've been waiting for a game to come along that they can latch onto as the WoW killer. That will heavily influence reviews.

For 300M it shouldn't of been a problem. Fyi all the A+ reviews in the world won't change the fact that this game is extremely lacking for a MMO released in 2012 and its just out right sucks if your not doing story line. So basically they just spent 300M on KTOR3 online a single player MMO at least call it what it is. This game is super MMO lite.

I know. That was a "well DUH!" comment. Why would you even try? If you put a day/night cycle on Tatooine you may as well add Klingons too. In other words, it does not have one! Do all the planets even rotate on a north/south axis like Earth? How many do not spin or do so very slowly? How many spin on an East/West axis? Best to just avoid all the inconsistancies all together and assume we all wait to land until it is daylight on the part of the planet we want to be.

There is an article from a California newspaper. You can Google it. The estimates are between $200 and $300 million. Some rumors have even suggested numbers closer to $500 million.

Estimates... Guesstimates...they are both the same...is there a "official" source from Bioware or EA?

Anyway, I really enjoyed some of the reviews. Very well written and honest. I like it when editors add their pros and cons. It gives the reader a better outlook on the game.

What? you expect a news reporter to know? I think ill trust a dev.

I'll trust the devs as much as I trust EA.

I trust the news reporter to have unnamed sources that will tell them the truth instead of the company line. It's a pretty common practice and good reporters usually have multiple sources verifying information.

EA/Bioware won't tell anyone how much they spent. That would make investors nervous.

The only rating that matters is the one you give it.

6/10. Having a combat log and UI customization would have made it a 7 easy.

I would post that if this was that kind of thread. If you have a similar review from a decent gaming/PC site I'll post it in the OP. Like I said, good or bad. I love reading others "constructive" reviews good or bad. ;)
