Star Wars is full of defections from the beginning. Darth Vader was light before crossing over... Both Luke and Rey are tempted to join the Darkside... Republic Troops became Imperial Troops with Order 66. Elara Dorne also defected,,,That would also be a way to add new classes to the game as well...Just one fan hoping... It's easy with force users. But what would tech users revert to? Mechanically it's one thing( BH <-> Trooper), but according to story it's another( BH <-> Smuggler). Limariko Posted November 2, 2016 Share Posted November 2, 2016 Technically for the Agent, there already is a defection option of sorts for them to become a double agent. As far as the others go, a Trooper could be fed up with the Republic, and a Hunter or Smuggler might see better job prospects with the Republic. Knight's transition from act 2 to 3 should have left council with A LOT of questions about his loyalties, yet all you ever get is "welcome back". And on consular, if you spare Vivicar, he directly tells you "You are their hero now, but they will abandon you just like they did with me". Such a golden hint... at thing that never happens. Folks have been suggesting it ever since the class archtypes were first revealed. The answer has always been a "no," with various reasons over the years. With the companion system the way it is now, that is a bit more of an open question, mechanics-wise, but story-wise, I bet the answer will still stay "no."
